Screen or/and Grain Merge are pretty similar to linear light I think.
Tutorial is simple, but it's nice. Unfortunately it is a Photo shop tut, by the looks of it so I won't be doing it any time soon. But I might try it, and show my outcome  .------------------- | |

Outstanding tutorial. I didn't have a way to accent patterns upon my clipping masks, so I just made them sharper to have them stand out.

Its a bit harder with a human stock because it gets a tad to bright. But fixing it wasn't much of a problem.
I really like the outcome. Did a few things of my own after I finished the tut. Also made one in B&W  This was a good tut, as I suck at clipping mask and this made a simple for me. ------------------- | |
