It's the little things that count...

didn't you think that one of the most wonderful things about zelda : ocarina of time - other than the shear size of the game, amongst other things - was the fabulous attention to detail - the small things that you can do. by the way, it's a long time since i played the game - i borrowed it for a month or so about 3 years back - but had a quick go yesterday because my friend is going through it all again.

he showed me some interesting little things - like the way you're told that you can play a song in front of the cows (i forget which one) to get milk from them. haha! brilliant! also, there was one more thing that was just stupid and wonderfully pointless: if you hack up a signpost, then play zelda's lullaby (i think ) in front of it, it re-assembles itself. heh. luvvly.

anyone else find any delicious intricacies that took their fancy?

P.S. sorry if there is a thread like this, i haven't noticed it

yeah i know what you mean, like the weather and water effects, the different sounds when you walk on different surfaces, kicking up dirt when you ride epona over a dry patch.

well, i haven't seen as much of this game as most of you will have, but one of the things i can remember enjoying was going through the water palace and doing something (rescuing someone, was it?) from that big fish type thing.

and to reply to celcius: yes, i think the other details such as the ones you mentioned - that is, the particle effects, and things graphically as well as gameplay and plot-involved, really add to the atmosphere. i also love the blurry kind of feel the whole thing has. know what i mean? makes it very picturesque, strangely film-like in places, and often very dreamlike.

The little things that are annoying are tasks in the game. They can get tricky.

I love the little things about Epona.
When you shoot her while riding, she neighs(I did it on accident^_^) When you run up to her as a kid she runs away...when she smushes baddies into the ground...Yup. The little things like that give so much joy:D
