Why is OoT so much better than TP |
|
Well, I think it's better anyways.
Plain and simple, I think Twilight Princess is a blown up version of Ocarina of Time. Zelda games often reinvent themselves, while staying strangely familiar. I don't think this was the case with TP so much. OoT was original. What are your thoughts? Does anyone feel the way I feel about it? -------------------

I thought OoT was a lot more detailed when it came to the little things. I remember spending hours, looking around the dungeons to see what kind of unique little designs were around the walls and stuff, trying to find out any kind of background story behind everything. TP didn't compare with that and just seemed really boring that way.

TP's way better than OoT. Better graphics, better storyline, alot more stuff to do, and much darker.

I dunno, i've not played OoT in ages, but from what i can remember i preferred TP. It's pretty close though. I guess i just prefer how nice the game looks.

I usually have a little more fun with OOT, mostly because it doesn't go out of its way to appeal to the hardcore gamer, which TP does.

TP did everything but appeal to the hardcore gamer. It's even been pointed out by Nintendo heads that it was supposed to be for everyone, especially new players to Zelda.

I personally believe, that most U.S American like Ocarina of Time better becuase some people in our counrty dont have Twilight Princess. And I believe that other countries such the South Africa,Asia, the Iraq everwhere like such as dont have consoles.Sorry teen south carolina moment.I really think that TP is WAAAAAAAY better then OOT.When it first came out then yea,OOT kicked ass.But now its not as great. Its still a good game but TP is still the most interactive, detailed and well storied game in the franchise...next to Wind Waker.

With nostalgia goggles, OoT by far. But without, I don't know. TP is for most part a better game, but the zelda formula is defiantly look old now.

Does nobody care for originality? OoT defientley has this on TP. Perhaps if I hadn't played Oot first it would seem diferent to me. Tp lacked that "first time magic" that Oot had. There's something very similar about these two games, something you're a virgin to untill you play one of them. I lost mine to OoT.

I got that "first time magic" with both. However. I think I prefer TP, because I liked the dark, pensive atmosphere. Playing TP felt almost like watching a movie, only I was playing it. Plus, TP had better graphics and controls.
Though, I think if I had played OoT on the N64 when I was younger instead of first playing it on the Virtual Console, I might have liked it better. -------------------

TP has a craptastic battle system. Seriously... you can put a clamp on the Target button, make a sandwich and come back to find that you have taken no damage. Eh I can't really say anything else seeing how I'm not that big of a Zelda fan and haven't played them as much as other games.

Well thats what i mean.We think about having some awesome game that when we get it then go back to the older games, they arent as great anymore. Its the same game, its just not as appealing to some players anymore due to the graphics advancment and stuff like plot and battle system.

Personally, I prefer older games to newer ones. Games today are not challenging at all. OoT was pretty easy to be honest but at least it wasn't as bad as TP.

I don't think graphics are the issue here. Those are nice gimmicks. But what it all comes down to for me is, which game was more fun. Which game pulls you in and captivates you. Maybe I'm getting old, but I know there's something Oot has that TP is lacking, something that graphics and and various functions can't bring back.
Now, I personally know two big Zelda fans; both never finished TP. Despite how nice it looked and how expansive the enviourments were, they droped it. There response is, "I just couldn't get into it," or "I lost interst." OoT was captivating from start to finish. TP got a little boring for me....it wasn't different enough...As much as we all loved the Hyrule from Oot, we can't go back. -------------------
