I've found the lure by walking around the perimeter of the pond in the tall grass. I've found it near the rocks in the water in front of the crack in the wall. I've also found in on the log sticking out of the water. You don't actually SEE it, you just walk over it and it becomes yours.

It is NOT an easy process to catch the loach - it took me over an hour one night to finally get it to bite.

I don't think it matters, old or young. In the picture I posted I was an adult, so maybe that has something to do with it.

If you go to the pond at night, and you have the iron boots and the zora tunic, try walking around on the bottom of the pond and you'll probably see the fish. It looks like an eel, er something.

But make sure you get the sinking lure. Walk all around the outer wall (not around the perimeter of the pond). If it's not there, try climbing up on the log that's sticking out of the water across from where you came in, and if it's not there try the area where there are rocks in the water in front of the crack in the wall.

w00t! I found the sinking lure! It bites that you have to find it every time you go fishing. Now my goal is to catch the loach...but I can't find it! I've seen it before, but now that I'm looking for it, it's hiding from me. Any tips as to when it comes out and what not?

you have to talk to the guy and say let's talk about something once right when you get in. Than look for the sinking lure. You won't be able to see it though. It's usually on the log in the pond.


Doesn't anyone else think the lure looks better in the gc version? I found it using my game and I got creeped out for a second.

I thought the lure looked better in the GC version, too.

People say you can only catch the loach at night, and come to think of it, that's the only time I've ever seen it. Try it when it's dark outside.

Also, you'll have a better chance of seeing it if you put on your Zora Tunic and Iron Boots so you can walk to the bottom of the pond and look around.

If you don't have the boots yet, you *could* always swim around at the top and look down in the water from time to time.

Yeah, you could swim, but really, whos gonns swim around, disturb the fish, and look around, just to look in a hole in the log that you cant really even see the thing?

When I was young link, I found it on the log, but both times I got it when I was big link, I found in in the grass around the outside wall. Thanks for the help on that one, Trogdor.

I think you find it near two places as an adult, one is near the crack in the wall where water runs through, and I forget the other, it's been too long. try and catch the fish (loach) when you find the lure the first time, because he took it away from me when he saw I had it. I don't know if he does that until you catch it or not.

The other is on top of the log that sticks out of the water. I pretty much always find it there.
