re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

I played and finished FF 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,10-2 and 12 and OoT. I must say I prefer any of these FF to Oot and my fav is FF7. I've divided my comparison as seen below:-
EPIC: Every single FF is epic. But in OoT, I did not get that sense of big things happening and that the whole world is in danger, etc maybe because Hyrule itself is so small. The FF world is really big and you get to see how the whole world is being affected and is trying to fight back. Not to mention that some worlds are futuristic, others are medieval in style. Its refreshing each time around.
Character development: Definitely FF. No character in Oot had any really depth to them and it was hard to feel for them. Link is so passive who just sort of does what he's told to do. Yes, he doesn't have any line but so did Crono from Chrono Trigger. Cloud from FF7, on the other hand, blew me away with his complexity - the way he made himself believe that he actually succeeded in Soldier was awesome. And also, its great to have new characters in each game and much more interesting.
Storyline: Zelda's story was approximately the same thing over and over again. FF is full of twists and turns and though the theme is "Save the world", the way this is achieved is always different.
Battle: Yes, true, most people would prefer Oot's real time battle than FF's turn-based style but the array of movements that Link can perform is so limited and once you found out the pattern of the boss (the small battles are boring), its over. But the random battles in FF do become tedious at a point but this is issue is address in FF12 where you only have to control 1 character and even the smallest battle is really fun. Not to mention the limit breaks which are a visual feast.
Music: That's a no-brainer. How can any of the zelda music beat the likes of "Battle with Gilgamesh" or "Liberi Fatali" or "Eyes on Me" or the "Crystal Theme"?

re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

i gotta stay true to my origins, OoT is where its at.
there are several quests that make u forget about ganondorf completely. there really isn't too much of a twist in it though, mainly resurrecting the old.
if this were aimed toward the series of Zelda vs. the series of FF, it would be much easier to go over to Zelda, because of WW. the game, i feel was one of the greatest Zelda games yet, with amazing story developement and twists more abundant than a bunch of gay guys playing twister. character development is much more in depth, and a new hero is introduced:one never destined for anything, and gets rupees from his grandma.
yes i love this game and feel that the only game better than it is serious sam

re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

This is merely an argument of opinons. There is very little one can compare when it comes to Zelda and Final Fantasy. In the end its all up to the person themself. I mean its an action/ adventure series against a traditional (well at least from I-X) turn based rpg series. That isnt comparable on many levels. What you look for in a Zelda game is not the same as what you look for in a FF game. This argument is just people saying which games they prefer. Personally I love them both, I can never say I like one better than the other, but an argument such as this is pointless.

I love them both, but I grew up on Zelda, so I'd have to say LoZ.

Ugg see? You people are merely prooving my point, this is ridiculous, your merely screaming your opinon and not only are you not giving valid reasoning, but if someone defies your opinon, you will scoff them off and not care.

re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

Zelda.
1. Replay value. I've played through OoT probably seven or eight time, at least four of which getting everything in the game. The most times I've played a Final Fantasy through might be 2.
2. Sweet items. I like to get stuff! Especially cool stuff! In the Zelda series, you can see link using his items, and you can use them in interesting ways. FF uses menus. Yes, you can see the weapons, and yes, a lot of them are extremely cool. However, the Hookshot pwns anything in a Final Fantasy game can offer!
3. Game engine. I just prefer Zelda's style of play. The behind the back in OoT was a magnificent transition from ALttP (also an amazing play style).

Now, don't get me wrong, I love the FF series! I have all of them except 3 (I can't really afford a DS right now). VII and X are my favorites, but if I was stuck on an island with one of the two -- it would have to be Zelda. Unless it was Zelda II. Then I'd shoot myself.

re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

Sorry To Bump .. But Zelda In All Means ..

OoT Plays great songs to get you places, and they got a great catchy tune! Sometimes i play the songs just to hear it and not warp anywhere lol. the way link continues in all zelda games is the best thing as it shows how you are already familiar with how he was born, what he wears etc .. sure graphics werent that great back in the day but on ranking sites OoT wins over all games ever made and still that are coming out, so if no game can beat OoT then final fantasy cant either. Zelda Gamer Forever

Amen to that, I really didn't like FF's battlestyle, I liked Paper Mario's because on that you could at least time and control your attacks and you could actually go close to your enemies when you attacked them but on FF you can't do that, and in FF your enemy's attacks were always the same. And the magic, WTF, the magic is lame in my opinion!

re: Zelda VS. Final Fantasy

Sigh.. Final Fantasy is better by far, no comparison.

Yes they are different genres, but lets look at the facts...

Zelda OoT sold 5.5 million when it first came out.

FF7 sold 9.8.
FF8 sold 8.1.

Zeldas music is trash, it really is the game for children as it's so simple to finish, even master quest was easy...

Final Fantasy's music is amazing, with so much variety and a nicer sound.

Tbh you only really play as LINK! Yay! A little kid who says "Sayah!" or and adult man that grunts. -_-

At least Final Fantasy has new people every game... It's just lame to know that in zelda, in every game, you are going to be the "hero of time" trying to stop Ganon blah blah boring.

Even the villains in FF are better, Sephiroth > Ganon/Ganondorf.

Kuja > Ganon/Ganondorf

Tbh who doesnt own Ganon -_-

The battle system, I'd much rather it was organised than roll around a bad guy hitting him with a shitty sword or throwing a lame-ass bomb.

It's harder in final fantasy as you know the enemy WILL hit you, rather than owning everyone in zelda without being touched...

Also the side quests in Zelda "Kill all the shitty gold spiders"!

Or Chocobo Breeding The Breeding quest in ff7 is awesome.

Also there are more fun aspects of FF than Zelda, Zelda is too... boring... at least the main characters talk, swear, make stupid comments.... Sayah is just annoying.

Minigames in FF! Awesome

Theres also EMOTION in final fantasy (sorry to sound lame). I mean main characters die, and things happen which *bleep* you off.

If you're the hero of time in zelda, why not go back in time, and kill ganon as a baby.

THAT WOULD MAKE A LOT MORE SENSE THAN RELEASING SO MANY SHIT GAMES.

...I dont even care that much for zelda.. I just cant take it seriously... I mean come on... your a kid in a skirt...

Basically, I have played both games... a lot.. because I have no life...

and came to the conclusion FF > Zelda.

Anyday.

Ever.

Zelda is epic if you're 4.

Final Fantasy is just epic.

EDIT : Btw! whoever said OoT wins on all the Game sites. Can srsly f'off, we all know thats not true
