Link would win, since Cloud would spend most of his time just standing there, waiting for his turn. Or waiting for the summon cutscene to go by.

But really, there is no answer to this. this happened back with the "Zoras vs. Dekus vs. Gorons" thread. It's all a popularity contest.

And besides, each battle would be different, with different circumstances, different actions, and thus a different victor. In fact, if you have Brawl, or even Melee, try pitting two characters, both same level, no items, on the most basic stage. Odds are, the same character won't win everytime.

Yeah, however I do know a crossover battle that is very one-sided, Samus Aran VS. Master Chief, Samus just uses screw attack and space jump boots (the Super Metroid/Metroid Fusion kind) and chances are none of the Cheif's weapons will be of any use save the rocket launcher but that's still going to be hard to aim while Samus flies around, and without those power-ups Samus can use her Power-Bomb or Speed booster, better yet plasma beam (yet again the 2D variation) to shoot through walls at an unsuspecting Master Cheif, the only chance the Cheif has is if Samus has no power-ups AND no energy tanks, I know this is sorta irreleant to Link VS. Cloud but so far all I've seen in arguments between those two characters are either biased or pay absolutely no attention to the godly power of the screw attack or the power of attacking through walls.

But onto the relevant topic, Link would have to make good use of everything he had to win, ooh, here's an argument, who would win in this decathlon of sports?

I personally beleive Samus would win, speed booster, shinespark, screw attack, not to mention morphball bombs, Cloud would have a very difficult time with Samus.

the name won't change unless jacknalls does it, which i doubt
