Fav. Traits
|
This is a sort of run off from the fav. charater thread. What is your favorite skill to learn, and what is your favorite way to customize Alaron?
Personally, my favorite trait is wizard because you can do almost anything with it, my second is healer because it saves the party ALOT! Also, my fav. way to set up alaron is to focus on his wizard because there is no limit on which spells he can use. I also work on his warrior and hafted abilities (with the mace of glory he KICKS A**!!). And of course I give him fireball 10.
Oh yeah what's your least fav. trait? Me, Alchemist. I mean all it really does is save you $, and I've never used a cheat to get $ but I've always found myself with more than I could possibly need, (last time I had >300,000 gold, what can you possibly need that much for?

My favorite for Alaron is Wizard, and my favorite spell is Dragon Flames. I like it better than fireball because it is easier to control -- there is no danger in burning one of your own party. Wall Of Bones also is great (that goes without saying). Alchemist is the worst of all traits for any character because in battle you can only hold one flask at a time and you lose a turn in picking out another flask. Also does Loremaster really do anything in the game? I have never developed it with anyone.

did you ever check out any of the libraries? with higher loremaster skill you can read more chapters in more books. i don't think it really helps at all, but it is interesting to read some of the stuff they've got.
my favorite would have to be theif. it help out in so many ways: picking locks, scaling walls, backstab.
for alaron i usually build up his wizard and warrior, main weapon is usually sword. i always make sure he has air shield and/or spirit shield. can he learn frozen doom? i can't recall ever seeing it on any scroll or any shops.
my least favorite is probably troubadour. i mean, does it even help the party at all? you don''t need to have any higher than level 1 to charm the fairy queen at talewok, so why should you build it up?

Ahhh! My favariote trait is DEFINTALLY Healer! I LOVE HEALER! It ALWAYS SAVES ME!!! YAY! ..*ahem* I also love that everyone can learn it! (...I hope they all can...) (Espically Arturo, who I'm going to use this file...I can't remeber if he can learn it or not...but I'm pretty sure he can.^^()) And I also love Thief. Without the Thief skill, I think well...I'm in trouble.
My least fav skill is probablly Troubadour. I DO upgrade it, strangely, but I HATE it because of Pandara who used to glitch up my files from talking to her to much. (At least now I have a way to get out of the damned forest as soon as I get XP from her. No more singing for me! MWHAHA)
Um...as for Alaron..I'm pretty partial to bows and wizard...and dexterity, which he needs SO badly at the beggning of the game.. (It's like...this is turn order: Monster, Abrecan, Brenna, Abrecan, Abrecan, Rheda, Brenna, Monster, Monster 2, Abrecan, Brenna, Rheda, Brenna, Rheda, Monster, Alaron...) ^^() But then again, w/ Keelin in the party it's more.. (Keelin Keelin Keelin Keelin Keelin Monster Keelin ,Monster killed!) ^^()

this is just in reply to your comment on Pandara: Sorry to say, but your trobadour skill is irrelevant, I've always talked to her at level one and it always worked at a max of five times.

Sometimes my game glitches up HORRIBLY, and won't let Pandara let me escape. But I've found away to escape WITHOUT letting her let you! *evvviiilll grin*
This is what you do:
-Save Before going in the Dryad Wood...just incase.
-Don't talk to ANY Dryads except Pandara, and find the Amaranth, talk to her once and get the XP she gives you.
- Do any traning/ect, then get ready, and save again.
-Go to one of the rabid Dryads and fight, you most likely will go, if you up dextertiy enough, flee the battle. Pandara will have vanished.
When you try to leave a Male Dryad approches you, he tells you that you have offended the queen, and sends you to a Gorgon filled cave near the entrance to Talewok. Now you can walk back to Talewok! ()
Thats my anti-troubadour/anti-pandara stratgey!

Hmmmm. It could work, but it still sounds like more work than just talking to Pandara repeatedly, but if talking to her gliches your game, well then your stratedgy sounds better than talking to her, reloading your game talking to her again, reloading your game AGAIN, talking to her A-G-A-I-N! followed closely by heaving your 64 out the nearest window. In that case your idea sounds best.
