Favorite party/skills
|
Hello all I'm new here and I was wondering what everyone's favorite party at the end is and how they train their chars up.
Like with Alaron, I like bows and magic. I don't know why I like bows. He just mows through those stupid goblins in Erromon with the $8000(ouch) great bow that I spent an hour trying to get. He does almost as much damage at level 4 with the great bow as Abrecan at Level 8 does with Trahern's sword...usually. And then...well...can anything stop a level ten fireball fired from him with level 10 wizard skill?
I also use Abrecan all the way through. He's the only way you can get past the goblins early on, and never loses his valuability (or whatever the word is). I also like Baird because he's so funny and big and cute...ok maybe not cute but you know what I mean. I just love seeing a 10 foot barbarian recite poetry in the middle of one of the hardest parts in the game. And Sholeh is awesome! IMO besides Niesen (who is my fav char and I cried when he died because he rocked(undead guys rule!!!)) she is my fav char. Her Solar Wrath spells makes those ever-so annoying plague zombies flee almost every time! YEAH!!! And she's even more deadly than Abrecan and Baird with the spellbreaker axe and can hold her own with star spells. She's awesome!
My fav skill is probably...um...wizard. I don't like loremaster and diplomat. They have very little use. Alchemist is okay if you really need stealth potions right then or if the nearby source of strength potions is way overpriced. But other than that, and maybe a spare curing potion or two, it's useless.

Welcome to the forum!!! There aren't many people coming here anymore, so any posts that you make will be most appreciated.
Anyway, my favorite party is Alaron, Brenna, Rheda, and Abrecan. Yeah, I know that it's not very exciting, but I've kept them throughout the entire game twice now, and there was no one that could stand before them. The amount of time that you have to customize them makes them far superior to anyone that you could pick up later. For example, you only need one person with certain abillities, and picking up someone with a duplicate skill that is like that is pointless. I have, right now, Alaron with lvl. 9 fireball and wiz. lvl 7 and I haven't even gone to Choas Island! Also all of the other members have dex., strength, and will. lvl. 30! no one I could possibly get could beat this. So why bother changing? My favorite skill is wizard. It takes a lot to train, but it by far the most helpful. Can any other skill be both enormously offensive abd defensive (ex. fireball and mirror)? I think not!! Loremaster, interesting, but effectively useless. Well that's about it. Just thought I'd let you know my thoughts. TTFN. Post again soon.

R U the only one who comes here anymore? Well anyway I started a new game and found out that Godric can be extremely good. At higher levels, you can turn him into an all-elemental character. That means level 10 fireball. That means Alaron is free to do something else. And his alchemy is useful for strength/defense/etc. potions when there is no shop around that sells them. So maybe I think my least favorite is Brenna or Donovan. Ya I know but Brenna sucked so I kill her everytime to get Becan and Donovan just couldn't hit worth a crap the one time I tried him. And when he did hit it was on a hellhound and it was for 4 whole damage. The only thing slightly useful about him is his teleportation and various other naming spells. I also hated Arturo. He was like a Donovan that hit less and had about 1 turn every battle but did hit for uber damage when he rarely did. I think I actually got him to the monster 2 times in about 7 battles before Abrecan, Alaron, and Becan killed it. And when he did get up there he missed several times and then hit once, but it was for alot of damage, but that doesnt' matter. And he doesnt' even have spells to back himself up with. Still, he's better than Donovan. But I got them both killed anyway. OK maybe I killed Donovan because I wanted Sholeh and was almost to the Jundar gate. Anyway Godric has actually become one of my favorite characters. His little sayings are so funny like the one when you get him.
"I can throw a knife or a bean bag or poke things or something. But I think Inferno flasks 'BOOM' do more damage than poking."

Brenna just is inferior to Keelin in every way and you need Becan to beat Kitarak. I'm not giving up Rheda and certainly not giving up Abrecan for him so who does that leave? I guess if you trained her she could be decent.

OK. I'll say this again. Brenna is only inferior if you don't train her correctly. Focus on strength and dex and her thief. You can give her Wizard if you want but it doesn't really matter.
Also The only time I used Becan against Kitarak, he died ot5her than that I've always beat him without the "aging wonder"
