OK I want to know what spell and spell class everyone likes the best and why and what everyone's least favorite is.

I personally like the elemental class. It just has the widest variety of damaging spells and most of the characters that you get are of this class if any. Fireball would have to be my favorite spell. I mean can anything stop Alaron with level 10 wizard and level 10 fireball. I think not. And it is the way that you get through those stupid plague zombies if you don't have Solar Wrath (which is also another one of my favorite spells that Sholeh comes with). I like naming too. It seems to be the "buffing" class of spells that Rheda is so very good at. I don't really like the other two because though necromancy does have the most damaging spell in the game (crushing death), and the fabled wall of bones, the other spells are either impossible to find or are not worthy of wasting a turn with. Star has two useful spells, Solar Wrath and White Lightning. But the other spells suck. Except frozen doom but it's impossible to find.

Fireball, Mirror, Stupidity, and Forzen Doom are probably the best Spell. Frozen Doom CAN be found, it is just difficult. I can't rememeber exactly where it is but I would have to say that it is somewhere in the shops in Ugarit (spelling?). Mirror is essential uf you want to beat Ponchgarat w/o Wall of Bones, and stupidity can make bowmen miss and alot of spell-casting badguys useless.
I also agree that Elemental is best because it is offensive, unlike naming, and easy to find, unlike necro.

Star is extremely hard to find. I don't see the difference between Web of Starlight and Frozen Doom. Can you please explain?

Web of starlight inflicts some damage periodically, however it can be broken out of, depending of the targets strength. Frozen Doom doesn't inflict damage, but once cast it stays in effect unless there is a dispel Star spell cast.

I like every school, but my favorite is definitely naming. If you cast stupidity on like 10 skill and the enemy only has 15 int total, he becomes unable to attack. It's the exact same thing as wall of bones for stupid monsters. And then there's endurance... what's better than 20hp added to every char? Plus there's all those great late-game spells. Charming, banishing elementals, etc. I also like necromancy... endurance + stamina = 40hp extra! And weakness + exhaustion... well, you do the math. But my favorite two spells in the entire game... Aura of Solar Wrath, Aura of Darkness. FREE EXP! You cast those, shoot the brave ones, and their morale drops enough that everything but the "boss monsters" will flee.

Frozen Doom can be found in the desert on the east side of the chasm. In a semi circle dune will be a chest containing the spell not a wand. There will be Golums guarding near this spot. Not the golems near the bridges. It is between the second and third crossing of the chasm.

It can also be found in the basement of the building by the entrance to level in Ugarit that has The Jundar Emperor's tower in it. You know, the one with the Dome in the floor.

I like all the Spell classes....Though Elemental is my least favariote, because it seems so common! ^^()
I'd probablly say Necro, for Wall of Bones,and its other various powerful spells.
Which leaves me with one wonder...

Can you LEARN the spell Light? I've only seen it as an "attachment" on the Mace of Glory.

I think you're right about the light spell, I've only seen it on mace of glory too. Hmmmmm. Kinda makes that weapon a lot more valuable, don't you think? I'll keep my eyes open on my next game to see if I can find any scrolls or trainers for it.

Actually, I found a wand that uses Light! I was just in Erromon in like my...bazillonth game. ^^()

The female Mirari in the underground Erromon area, the one that sells Fireball, also sells Light Wands.

So the search is on for a way to add it to your spells, a scroll or trainer. Hmmmmmmmmm. I don't play very often anymore, I'm involved in Morrowind right now, but next time I do I'll make a in depth seach for this most elusive of spells. Personally I love this spell. Typically my party is totally solar oriented so this spell becomes crucial later in the game. It's kind of poetic justice when your camp is ambushed by a bunch of lunar aspected creatures and, bum bada bum, you cast light and now you have the advantage. (evil chuckle of glee)

Haha. Actually, I don't play to much either, but when I do play this game, its obsession. Recetly I learned what Final Fantasy was, and in the progress of three months bought FF Antholgies, 7, 8, and 9, and beat them all but V. Now I'm going to get X soon.
But anyway, I'm playing though right now again though. Today went through Shamsuk's tower with Keelin, Arturo and Niesen. But yah..

I have just been reading through the forums and i love it! Anyway, my favorite class would have to be Naming and my favorite spell would be teleportaion. Rheda is my favorite chracter and so i pump her up with everything and when i got the teleportation spell i couldnt stop smiling. I think its awesome that i could be on one side of the field and just *zoop* to the other. Then i would probably go for elemental because fireball is my most used elemental spell. I can clear out an entire squad (squad?) with just one cast. Oh and to make up for Rheda's lack of offensive spells, i usually equip her with scrolls and wands that have offensive magic on it. This is why naming is the best.

Naming really is a good buffer class but I don't think it can stand against elemental which basicall combines the best of all the classes, minus things like wall of bones. I also like Rheda though but I typically make her a warrior in addition to her spells. she can be almost as good as abrecan in combat. Glad you like the forum. this is where I started out but i don't visit much anymore.

Rheda is my second fighter, after Abrecan, and she is also one of my main magic users. Also, i wish more people would post on this forum because this game cannot die!! I love it too much!
