So Sad ;(

It has greatly depressed me to see how bad a rap Aidyn got when ita was released, and how now you cant find information or talk to fellow players because gamers have moved on to "bigger" and "better" games. When I bought Aidyn (a few days after release) I didnt have internet or game magazines and I was unbiased in my opinion of the game. I loved it from the very begining and will always love it. I wish that I could mak a sequel myself but alas, I have no programming skill. The main thing that made me love aidyn was its storyline. It develops from a simple almost rediculous story into a super complex story, with a very big potential for sequels and prequels. I just wish that people weren't so stupid about games. Its too bad that it will prolly take a few months before anybody even reads this forum again.........hmmm. *sigh. Well, tell me if you feel the same way.

re: So Sad ;(

I feel for you and I agree.
I have been coming to this forum since it was a big thing. There were actually replies several times a day instead of once every few.
There are actually several things that draw me, even now to aidyn. One is indeed the story which was very good for it's time. the main thing that I mis is the Combat system and it's use of spells. this gamei s th only one I've seen that has successfully melded spellcasting and melee combat, without one become predominant/necessary. Also the way combat works with the hugely tatical approach and the myriad of variables that affect every single thing, from attacks to turns to radius and effects of spells. I mean, have the time of day play an impact was genius, especially since you can locate spells that can change it.

I still have never found a game with that satisfying of comabt. I wish it's brillance would be repeated even though the series is dead.

There is a reason for that too though. Several actually:
1. H2O is no more. Dead. Deceased. GOne.
2. It is a VERY buggy game. Too many lost saves.
3. It required the memory pack to play, a rare thing for N64.
4. It came out near the end of the N64's life and had to compete with the new generation of gaming platforms.
5. Bad marketing. lets face it the box looks like any other Rpg. A good deal worse than most really.
6. There is always a plethora of RPGs, and the ones from no name publishers (H2O), bad marketing, and no obvious frills (without playing it) that distinguish them from others, are almost guarenteed to flop.

Consider this just another sad story of the effect of competition.
