re: What you'd want in a sequal

Hi again. I say fable was cool. I think voice acting is great, and I agree with having empty buildings and such. I loved the books and stories of the game. It told you so much about the game. Especially the stories the man tells you at Terminor . But I think the people should be able to say more then the same line over again. I know the diplomacy skill helpped with that, but they would still constantly say the samething over.

I'll agree with the dialogue options there should be a little more like 5 random things the average guy would say that would be a little more interesting.

re: What you'd want in a sequal

Well everyone is saying better graphics, the graphics aren't what the game is about. The original has good gameplay, and I don't think you could get rid of the turned base combat cause you'd wind up with a combat system like Starcraft. But yeah the movement barriers are annoying, and it would be fun if the game was harder, like only being able to use X number of potions in a battle, and that you can move your character as far as you want during combat but the further you move the more stamina you lose or something, all characters would need higher hit points if this was so. Also make the MAGIC more functional, I don't think there are more than 10 offensive spells in the whole game, and each School should have at least one offensive spell. And the amount of XP to train the spells to a decent level is a turn-off. Also be able to choose your party instead of having to kill members off. Treking could definately be improved, so damn boring. It'd be more fun if treking could be done on horses and you could see the rest of your party riding with you

re: What you'd want in a sequal

I would argue that the one thing they shouldn't change is the battle system. Upgrade it maybe but keep it essentially the same. Other BSs are a dime a dozen but I have yet to experience one as rewarding as the one I found in this game.

Also I think that the Magic is well balanced. It takes a lot of Xp to become profficient but once you do you can slaughter just about anything. Alaron, focused on Magic from the beginning can become virtually untouchable by the time you reach the desert. yes it takes a while but it's also much more powerfull than the other skills.

I should start off where the first one begain, and a bigger world would help. Maybe have a better map to I got lost a lot win I first played. All and all it doesn't need much, just some patching up here and there.

re: What you'd want in a sequal

Better graphics are a must. I honestly liked the graphics *style* (the wierd light, diverse color, cracked-out chaos monsters), but they still needed work.

More music. Without an expansion pack, the music is WORTHLESS. With it, it's ok, but there should be more. Hell, better sound in general, like voices too. That game had WAY too much dialog for NO voice at all. I mean, even Banjo-Kazooie and Mario 64 at least tried with "Wah-ooh" sounds.

I definitely say keep the battle barriers. No battle barriers would be assinine. Ranged combat, magic, and theif would all be useless. Making it real-time would be dumb too, that takes all the strategy out of it. It's not an action game, it's a strategy RPG.

I'd like to see a scry option. There's ALL KIND of random stuff you'll never even think to find, and some kind of sage who could tell you it's general location would be cool. I've been trying to figure out where i found control zombies for like years.

Wierdly enough, i liked how if a character died, he was GONE. Period. End of story. That made battles WAY more intense. Like I'd break a sweat or half have a heart attack sometimes. Still though, i think is should be *possible* to revive characters, it should just be a REAL pain in the ass. Like some kind of epic side-quest. That'd keep the suspense, add depth to the game, and allow for those situations where there's no way you're all getting out alive.

Side quests! another thing this game needed more of. It had a couple little diversions, but really, the game was HUGE, with so many places, there should have been more to get distracted with.

Really though, this was one of my favorite RPGs, and still is. With some real effort on quality, a sequel would sell great.

I Agree With Just About Everyone Here As Well And Yes The Armor Not Showing Up On The Characters Really Pissed Me Off Too...Imagine What Royal Plate Mail Would Look Like On Alaron. I Find That Most RPG's Even Aidyn Chronicles Are Lacking Good "Knight In Shining Armor" Looking Characters. Arturo Was A Great Attempt He Looked Like What We All Imagine A Knight To Look Like But He Still Needed Some Work. I Want To Wear A Full Suit Of Jousting Armor Something Like This. http://www.varmouries.com/cgallery/arch_09a.jpg That Would Be Kick Ass!

re: What you'd want in a sequal

well you know what i want for the damn sequal.........for it to happen. i really want this game to go on. but well ........... it isn't going to happen. this game is too old and if it didn't get a sequal for the gamecube, we aren't going to get one for the wii. but if we did.... it would be fu.king great i mean think about the gameplay for the wii and if the game has a storyline even half as good as the 1st one this game would be the gameing gods gift to all of us.

re: What you'd want in a sequal

Yea I completely agree. A sequel to Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage is highly unlikely. Its a damn shame too since it was a such wicked game with such an amazing story. Although if they did ever make a sequel I'd prefer if they released it on the Xbox 360 and then later on Microsoft Windows just because I think Nintendo went straight down the shitter after the Nintendo 64 died.
