That's a lot of matches, but I'm kind of disappointed with the lack of one on one matchups. It's not like Danielson's a rookie, he ought to be able to handle himself one on one with some of Japan's best.

re: Japanese Wrestling/Puroresu Thread III

NOAH/Dragon Gate: KENTA vs. Naruki Doi is now set for DG's 5/5 show.

All-Japan: CJ Otis has left the promotion and returned to America. Main reasons were his contract was up and there was likely going to be no room for him in the dojo with 6 youngsters living there and KUSHIDA occasionally coming over from Hustle, plus 3 more new arrivals expected next week.

All three Tokyo Gurentai members (NOSAWA Rongai, MAZADA & TAKEMURA) politely asked All-Japan for a singles between TAKEMURA and Osamu Nishimura, and called their loss of the Jr. Tag League one of the most "unmanly" shames the trio has had. It was also requested that TAKEMURA stop having matches in the opener, and that they were ready to purify themselves in order to become members of All-Japan's main body.

NEW All-Japan Jr. Heavyweight Champion Silver King makes his first defense against Ryuji Hijikata on 4/29 at Aichi.

New Japan: Several of the promotion's top stars will work the Zero-One MAX 4/6 event at JCB Hall. Announced matches:
Ryouji Sai, Osamu Namiguchi & Munenori Sawa vs. Yujiro, Tetsuya Naito & Mitsuhide Hirasawa
Kohei Sato vs. Ryusuke Taguchi
Ikuto Hidaka vs. Koji Kanemoto
Yoshihito Sasaki & Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Makabe & Toru Yano
Takao Omori & Tatsuhito Takaiwa vs. Riki Choshu & Jushin Liger
Masato Tanaka vs. Manabu Nakanishi

Nakamura has plans to head to Hong Kong soon and receive intensive kung fu training.

There are rumors that Tanahashi could return to TNA soon, with a possible match against Samoa Joe. TNA participation is also expected on the 4/27 Osaka show.

Yoshihiro Takayama & Takuma Sano beat Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima in 23:49. Sano pinned Nakajima after a rolling savate kick to the face.

New Japan: Manabu Nakanishi will challenge Masato Tanaka for the Zero-One MAX World Heavyweight Title on 4/6 at JCB Hall.

4/3 news:
New Japan: The promotion has announced the schedule for the annual Best Of The Super Junior tournament, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. The participants are not yet known, only the dates:
5/31-Soka City; 6/1-Korakuen; 6/4-Toyama; 6/5-Ishikawa; 6/6-Osaka; 6/7-Fukuyama; 6/8-Akashi; 6/13-Mito; 6/14-Kasumigura; 6/15-Korakuen
Milano Collection AT is the defending champion, he beat current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Wataru Inoue in last year's finals.

Riki Choshu's LOCK UP promotion will run its next show on 5/18, just a few days short of its 2nd anniversary. The show will be held at the location of its inaugural show, Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

Yuji Nagata will do special guest commentary on the Zero-One MAX vs. New Japan themed show that christens Tokyo JCB Hall on 4/6. Not only him, but old friend Shinjiro Otani will be sat in the commentary position too, and the press is pushing the idea of the two having some fiery arguments.

All-Japan: News outlets caught up with Suwama Wednesday while during his training session at the All-Japan dojo in Yokohama. Suwama clearly has made the first mission in this year's Champion's Carnival to pin Kensuke Sasaki cleanly and send a message throughout Japan. Suwama mentioned that although he defeated Sasaki in last year's Carnival through a cradle in 14 seconds, he did not really win the match, and would aim at a full victory this year, saying that he would pour his all into their match in order to ride the rest of the Carnival with that vigor. Suwama told the press that he has been eating well, sleeping well, and practicing often in order to be prepared for the champion, even practicing for Sasaki in his sleep and is prepared to go the full 30 with the champion if need be.

To each his own, I guess.
Also, the 3 newcomers selected in this year's open audition entered the dojo on 3/30 and began practice Tuesday with the 6 current young players and Kaz Hayashi.
