New Japan: The IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship is now VACANT. Wataru Inoue has given up the title, citing struggling to cut weight to stay under the division limit. He will now move to the Heavyweight division. A tournament will take place in July during a trio of Korakuen shows to crown a new champion. Inoue had been thinking about this for a while but first wanted to face his teacher, Koji Kanemoto. His Heavyweight career begins at the upcoming G1 Climax tournament.

NEW IWGP Heavyweight Champion Keiji Mutoh will defend against Manabu Nakanishi on 7/21 at Tsukisamu. Nakanishi became the #1 contender by defeating Hirooki Goto Sunday at Korakuen and has earned his first title shot since '03.

He's quite the Mutoh fan.

Osaka Pro: Asian Cooger is out indefinitely, and potentially a long time, due to a right leg fracture suffered during yesterday's show. Apparently it was serious enough to require him being hospitalized. This is the second straight Tag Festival that a major wrestler has been injured on the first day. It's not known what this means for partner Tsubasa, who with Cooger beat Tigers Mask & Black Buffalo, or if the losers instead move on. This will mean changes to the coming weekend's cards-Cooger was to have faced Kazuaki Mihara Saturday and be part of a 6-man on Sunday.

Now the crazy stuff...
CAT'S Okamoto's problem was that he wanted to participate in a musical. After the match, Sanshiro Takagi gave Okamoto Keita Asari's email address. For those wondering, Asari is the famous founder of the famous Shiki Theatre Company in Japan. Okamaoto & Takagi also danced together after the match.
Before the third match, Danshoku Dieno, Muscle Sakai & Masa Takanshi were shown backstage. They announce that they have decided to leave DDT and are now on their own and that they will now make a new promotion called Amami Oshima Pro-Wrestling. Takanashi expressed that his main goal was to marry a female from Amami Oshima. The announced card for the Amami Oshima show will feature Super Satoukibi vs. Black Satoubiki and Kibissan vs. Satoubiki Kamen. All this comes to an end when the Nuru Nuru Brothers interrupt and start oiling each other up.
After the fourth match, Yukihiro Abe & Shigehiro Irie continued fighting and had to get puled apart. Abe promised he would get revenge on Irie whenever Irie was in DDT.
After the semi main event, Yukinori Matsui mentioned that he was starting up Ishigakijima Pro-Wrestling and that it would go up against Amami Oshima Pro-Wrestling.
It's not known whether these new promotions are legit or just some kind of joke.

DDT: MIKAMI's next defense of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title has been set, as he will be defending it for 120 minutes on Saturday at a special event at the Dropkick Bar. Tanomusaku Toba will be the referee and anyone present at the bar will be able to challenge MIKAMI for the title. That should be fun, especially once one too many sakes get hammered down.

New Japan: Manabu Nakanishi will work the All-Japan 6/28 show to prepare for his IWGP Heavyweight Title shot. He'll face Nobutaka Araya.

Osaka Pro: Latest word on Asian Cooger is he's out roughly 3 months due to his injury. As far as Mucha Lucha and their Tag Festival 1st round win, an announcement will be made on Saturday regarding what will happen. Likely scenarios are partner Tsubasa picks a replacement and moves on or the losers in the match, Tigers Mask and Black Buffalo, get another shot.

Masa Takanashi finally revealed the special stipulation for the DDT Extreme Title Triple Threat Match... It will be a Women's Match, where females will represent each participant in the match. Takanashi also revealed that he would be represented by Masa-ko Takanashi.
Norikazu Fujioka was the acting replacement commissioner for Gorgeous Matsuno today, who wasn't at the show. Fujioka held a special meeting with all the wrestlers who didn't have a match on July 6. Fujioka slapped Muscle Sakai during the meeting. MIKAMI came out during the meeting and Fujioka slapped him and piled up all the guys in the ring on top of MIKAMI and pinned him to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title.
After the Battle Royal, Norikazu Fujioka raised Michael Nakazawa's hand and Fujioka tapped out and Nakazawa won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. It was decided that Antonio Honda, KUDO & Yasu Urano will be facing Metal Vampire in the Jiyugaoka Six Person Street Fight Tag Team Title Decision Match.

Osaka Pro: Super Delfin will return to Michinoku Pro, the promotion he defected from to form Osaka Pro, for 6 July shows as part of Michinoku Pro's 15th Anniversary celebration. The tour runs 7/12-7/21.

Well, Yoshino isn't getting first shot at the Dream Gate. Speaking of that, it also looks like CIMA's injury will have him out for a "considerable" amount of time. CIMA isn't thinking retirement yet but we're probably talking long-term.

New Japan: Satoru Sayama will return to the promotion on 8/26 for Red Shoes Unno's 20th anniversary show at Korakuen. Of more significance is that Sayama will appear in the NJPW ring as Tiger Mask 1 for the first time in 25 years. Current rumors have TM 1 teaming with Tiger Mask 4 against a Unno-selected team, possibly Jado & Gedo.

The Tigers together again. All that's missing are Tiger Masks 2 & 3 (Mitsuharu Misawa & Koji Kanemoto).

All-Japan: Suwama will undergo a cartilage removal operation on his right elbow today in Fujisawa City. After the Izumo show on 6/29, Suwama returned to the All-Japan dojo saying that the pain he was experiencing was uncanny, as his arm has been bothering him since his match with Hiroshi Tanahashi in the Champion Carnival Finals on 4/9, with his match against Kensuke Sasaki on 4/29 only worsening the arm. The injury was diagnosed and Suwama had to inject anodyne before his first defense against Osamu Nishimura on 6/28. He will have surgery today and will need about one week off, however, Suwama plans on carrying out forcible participation for All-Japan's 7/7 Hachioji rally, saying that he wanted to show a pro-wrestler's fine figure.

PWF Chairman Hiroshi Hase announced one big match to his self-produced show which will close All Japan's "2008 SUMMER ACTION SERIES" this year. It will be Taiyo Kea & Minoru Suzuki's first defense of their newly won Tag Titles against Suwama and Osamu Nishimura, giving Suwama a chance to become a 5-Crown champion since he holds the Triple Crown. The show will be used to raise funds for the Iwate earthquake with Keiji Mutoh saying that an encouraging dream would be given through pro-wrestling on 8/3. Mutoh said that Suwama and Nishimura have gained a mutual respect for eachother post-6/28, but wanted to see just how much respect they will have.Hase said that since the World Tag scene was digressing in some places, he wanted to put the match on a big stage in order to help revive what was once a booming field in pro-wrestling. Hase then finished by saying that he wanted everyone to come see hot fighting, and would be looking on feverishly to see if Suwama would be able to gain the 5-Crown achievement.
The Junior Singles League will also take place during the "SUMMER ACTION SERIES". The league will be two blocks and will hold traditional league rules (30 minute time limits, same point system as always). No participants were released today, but should be coming within the next few days. The league will start on 7/20 and end on 8/3 in Ishikawa.
