re: Hell In A Cell Main Event? |
|
My money is on Elmer Fudd beating Cena after Marvin Martian blows off the cell wall and Yosemite Sam charges in and guns him down.
I don't care for this idea at all. It's the same idea as Lockdown, except all of the matches would have a roof on the cage. People who bitch about the Lockdown PPV and go on to support the all Hell in a Cell match PPV are complete hypocrites. Can WWE muster up 6 or so feuds that would make sense to have HiaC matches, and make it seem like the match is still important? I seriously doubt that. WWE Hell In A Cell is too generic.
WWE No Escape doesn't really fit it as you can escape from the cell! I don't like WWE Lock Up for some reason. WWE Rage In A Cage sounds like it should be for steel cage matches only. ------------------- TYCP Magazine / My Sounds Now / PicSpaces

seriously, HIAC is meant to end fueds and It's a big deal. Having a HIAC PPV would definitely deliver, but what can they do the next PPV after that? It's definitely a great idea, but It's hard to top a PPV after that. -------------------

Wait a minute...
quote 411mania.comThis same exact thing occurred with that submission PPV where it was stated the main events would be submission matches and not ALL of the matches like the original poster claimed. And I am much more inclined to believe it's just the main events, as WWE isn't as stupid as it's being projected by the first post in both of these threads. In that case, it's more like No Way Out with the Elimination Chamber main events. In fact, they should call a HiaC-headlined PPV No Way Out: Part Deux.

Whenever I watch HIAC matches I'm always bitterly disappointed that no one ever flies off them anymore. Who was the last person to take a proper bump from the cage? Rikishi? >.<

It'd be really awesome to see Jeff Hardy Swanton off the top of that. Unfortunately I think it'd be a waaay too dangerous stunt to do. He could shoot off and go too far in the audience or some shit. And not to mention the next HIAC match is almost guaranteed to be Triple H vs Orton and with Jeff possibly leaving....there goes my hopes.

they broke the mold way too early. foley broke the mold way too early. the structure barely spawned its popularity and you had foley doing all that shit, rolling straight off of ecw. so the bar is obviously constantly raised at every HIAC match-up but most people have enough brains to see that we won't always get what we want in that department.
but luckily that in itself keeps the long-term stigma alive so it evens out. ------------------- ![]() ![]()

Stigmatised
|
re: Hell In A Cell Main Event? |

They shouldn't overdo it. Its as simple as that. It has the stigma of a career shortening match. To do it every year would go against that. It would be do'able once, but they wouldn't ever be able to top it (at least, not easily). They would need long feuds which would then culminate in the HIAC, and god get variations. While HIAC's are very entertaining, you wouldn't want to see them again and again in the same PPV. Have an elimination chamber, a cage (without pins please, cage matches which ends in pins or coming out the door piss me off to no end), and a HIAC and maybe another variant of it max. If they did it they would need it to be just the main events. Maybe they could even have the WCW's three stages of hell? That would be pretty epic.
Still, wouldn't really want this to happen. Its meant to be rare and a treat. Don't make it normalised. I agree that Foley did do too much shit which then made it impossible to top. That doesn't mean they can't top more recent ones though.
