In a surprising move, former ROH world champion Nigel McGuinness has signed with TNA and is backstage in Orlando today at the TNA tapings. McGuinness had reportedly agreed to a deal with WWE some time ago, but had never signed.

I thought Nigel would be more successful in WWE, despite his injury problems, than Bryan Danielson. Bastard tricked me and signed with TNA! I'll keep my eye out for his debut, though I saw him wrestle for TNA at a PPV before. That was more like a tryout match

They're one of the most reliable sources around, though they get their news from other sources and if those are wrong, then they are wrong. But when they post spoilers to a show, it's nearly always accurate. And I'm going to tune into iMPACT for sure now NIGEL! NIGEL! NIGEL!

Quite shocked at the news. And looking at what he did on iMPACT, looks like they promised him some goods.

I feel the same way marvel does now that I see Nigel's new TNA name. Senshi got off easy with his name change compared to Nigel's Couldn't they just call him McBudweiser instead?

Eh, I could go either way with this. It sucks cause I think he's someone who could have been big in WWE. Then again, I've said that about a lot of guys in the past such as Cabana, Burchill, etc and they all fell flat on their face due to terrible booking. McGuinness has all the tools to make it far in the WWE, but it all lies in the hands of the people writing the shit to make sure he uses them.

At first hearing him go to TNA made me cringe as it seems cookie cutter what they'll do with him. Slap him into World Elite (Who I do actually like) and maybe team him up with Rob Terry as an enforcer tag team to Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus. But now that I see he's going to be



, no matter how terrible TNA can be, I'm really looking forward to that.

Well first, WWE really dropped the ball by not getting him signed. I'm pretty sure Nigel wanted to go to the WWE, they just weren't working with him to get the right contract. I'm happy for Nigel because I expect he got a good deal in TNA, he won't have to work many dates, and he's in a really nice position right off the bat according to the spoilers. Hate the name though and since it's TNA, I have a lot of doubts. I'd like to see Nigel be a huge success and TNA stop sucking so hard but I just can't see it.

So bummed. I wanted to see a Dragon/Nigel match in WWE. It probably wouldn't have been anything spectacular but just that image alone would have been incredible enough.

This isn't Nigel's fault you guys his WWE contract negotiations fell through.

I'm happy because in all likely hood this means Nigel will be back in Ring of Honor by 2010.
