yeah i unfortunately saw the ppv that night. when owen hart was about to have his match. they kept it off the ring so you can't see but i knew something was wrong cause king and jr was like this isn't apart of the show. so then they skipped to the undertaker vs stone cold match. then after that match jr was like sorry ladies and gentleman but we just lost owen hart.

quote tommy 34I wasn't watching wrestling at that time, but that sounds awful. If I had been, I probably would have broke down into tears. When wrestlers-and other athletes-put steroids-and other substances-into their bodies, it can set them up for health problems down the road, which can sadly lead to an early demise. It's starting to feel like a steroid era for a lot-if not, all-of sports. Rest In Peace, Andre the Giant and Owen Hart.

I would just like to say that Owen Hart was my favorite wrestler ever since I watched WWF for the very 1st time, when I was about 9 years old (1992)
Everything he touched turned to gold, his character, most notably "The Rocket" and "The King Of Harts" were simply awesome and in my opinion surpassed Bret Harts "Hitman" character. Ever since I became a pro wrestler 4 years ago, I've emulated Owen Hart from my very first match. He is one man that will live on forever in my mind. Thanks for reading.

Owen Hart's death is one of the few times that made me seriously weep. But at least, he died doing what he loved.
R.I.P Owen, you were the best. -------------------

quote Lesley Pro_04well the only thing is owen hart didn't die because of steroids. he was supposed to be entering his match by comming down from the ceiling on a wire but something went wrong and it sent him falling to his death. ------------------- YOUR 2008 NFC CHAMPS THE NEW YORK GIANTS !

On May 23rd, 1999, Owen Hart was preparing to enter the ring via a zip line, which would mean he would literally glide down from the rafters, and into the ring. During his entrance, a buckle on the zip line snapped off, and sent him plummeting into the ring. What made this death even worse was that it happened in front of a packed crowd, some of the crowd members even laughing because they thought it was faked. Several witnesses of the horrific incident had this to say -
Some witnesses said the cable snapped, while others said it appeared Hart was somehow disconnected from it. They said his head snapped backward when he hit a turnbuckle, one of the padded pieces of metal that hold the ropes together in each corner of the ring. Hart was given CPR inside the ring as the ring announcer haltingly told the audience that the incident was not scripted, as professional wrestling matches openly are. Owen was pronounced dead at a hospital. "He was supposed to be lowered down into the ring," said Michelle Hindorff, a paramedic and dispatcher for Kansas City's ambulance service. "It didn't get hooked on to him. He thought it was hooked on," she said. It was truly a very sad incident, one that will haunt the WWF for ever. ------------------- Gone

wow, i was quite shocked when i first looked at this thread, i had no idea big bossman was dead. along with owen hart and british bulldog they were some of my favourite wrestlers when i first got into wrestling. to my knowledge i think british bulldog is the only british wrestler in WWE that ever got a heavyweight title shot. bulldog was always my first choice to win the royal rumble. bulldog and owen could have been fine wwe champions, butalas it was not to be.

I've made it a point to never watch any video relating to Owen's death, especially after I watched it happen live on PPV. And yeah, I was on the brink of tears at his RAW tribute show as well, since he was always one of my favorite wrestlers. The entire Hart Foundation (with Pillman as well) has been racked by misfortune and pain that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I wanted to add more onto the post but I had to stop.
