re: Wrestling Memorial Thread |

He died last year of a "massive heart attack". I remember making a thread about it soon after it happened, very sad. A lot of us were fans of him.

Not to be disrespectful but he was alright when it came to wrestling. I liked his gimmick and persona though. I thought it was pretty cool.

That's what made him really stand out. It was a great fit given he really was a correctional officer before breaking into wrestling.

I don't think he has died, he's recently been allowed to wrestle in other companies but under the name of 'Kishi', i think, because of the WWE.

The two hardest for me were Crash Holly and Chris Candido.
Crash Holly was one of my favorite wrestlers when he first debuted. People always made fun of me for liking him but I just kept following him. Hell, I even wore my hat like him, lol. I played him all the time in wrestling games, and I was even him in an e-fed. When I heard he died, I didn't believe it. But I started reading rumor sites and it was there, black and white and clear as crystal. It was sad cause on the same night, the Crash Holly I had just won a title at the PPV at the e-fed I was in. When I heard Chris Candido died, I almost burst out crying. The poor man, he was pulling his life around, he was really working hard to get his life back in order. He had a big drug problem but he wanted to fight his demons. Coming back to TNA helped him and he was on the track to a good life. He broke his leg on Lockdown after a botched dropkick from Sonny Siaki. It looked nasty. Backstage, he cried. Why? Pain? No. Agony? No. He ruined the match for Lance Hoyt? No. It's because he was going to be put up on the shelf. He wasn't thinking about the pain. Now that shows he had heart and passion for the business right there. Last time we saw him was at an iMPACT taping where his clients, The Naturals, won the NWA Tag Team Championships. The day later, he died. I watched that iMPACT on the eastern, midwestern, and western channels of FSN. I knew it was the last time we'd ever see ol' No Gimmicks Needed again. Rest in peace, Skip.

quote JcstylaI believe you're thinking of his distant relative, fellow Samoan Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoai (he, like almost all the famous wrestling Samoans, is related to the legendary Afa The Wild Samoan. Yoko was the one who weighed over 600 pounds at one point and died in his sleep a few years ago. Rikishi was/is very big too, but he's only around 350-400. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

I Read Yokozuna had a heart attack in a hotel room when he saw a spider in his room. I watched an old Yokozun Tribute show on TWC. It rocked i learnt a lot about him from the Videoclips.

I cannot believe I forgot about someone.
A great indy wrestling who died over the summer, Chris Ca$h. I really liked him, he was in CZW and a big up and comer in the business. He died in a motorcycle accident, very tragic. Here is a pic of him: ![]() -------------------

Even though he isn't dead yet, just thought I'd mention our old friend Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow, who has really fallen on very hard times lately. Below is a link to an article I just read about the various legal & other troubles he's had lately, including a recent motorcycle crash that nearly killed him and his girlfriend:

No. Kid Kash's real name is David Cash, who now competes for WWE.
Chris Cash's real name was Christopher Bauman, Jr. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.
