Check out the game "Obscure" for xbox. Same gameplay, similar monsters, alright story line. I recommend it.

I did play this game, but got stuck rather quickly. And I got bored of it and sold it. I might go buy it again.

Fatal Frame sounds very similar to SH. I was thinking of checking it out.

I am a huge fan of Silent Hill, and am always looking for games that emulate the horror side, but I worry when games adopt similarities in monsters, and gameplay... I suppose I just worry that it will tarnish my view on the genre, making all the games seem the same.... I'm not sure... but I would give it a shot anyway!
