Songs You're Currently Learning to Play [IV]

Continue from here.

Hopefully the title is self-explanatory, if not just post what song(s) you're currently learning to play, plus any comments or doodads you might have about it.

Santeria by Sublime. Well, I haven't started learning it yet but I know I will soon (I just printed off the tabs). The solo is going to be fun.

I'm still working on Under The Bridge by RHCP right now. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to practice and keep on working on it.

Another Brick in the wall - Korn (Pink Floyd Cover)

Curretly trying to get the solo down I've enjoyed learning it so far.

re: Songs You're Currently Learning to Play [IV]

OH YOU PEOPLE, learn some songs.

Bathory - Shores in Flames

Learning the intro to this again on classical guitar, namely on my early romantic guitar. The guitar is very old, so to preserve its strength I tune the guitar down to A=415hz, which is essentially the D# standard tuning everyone should be used to. Only for this song it's in Drop D, so down goes the bassest string to C#. Still very strong sounding, no floppiness from the lowering to speak of. The sound of this guitar is so much better suited to the song than my modern classical guitar, and considering the heritage, it's the most epic thing to play. Ever.

Currently trying to give "Faith Noel" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra a go. I've been really in the mood for Christmas music lately, and the three Christmas albums by TSO are all awesome

    Mastodon - This Mortal Soil

On bass. There are no tabs, so I'm adapting the rhythm guitar to bass through guitar pro. (H) Brilliant song.

re: Songs You're Currently Learning to Play [IV]

    Most excellent.

And yes, it's good to get some metal down again.

In the past 9 hours since I made that post, I made a respectable bass line even though it's based almost entirely on the rhythm guitar.. Good fingering and ergonomics, all I need to sort out are the power chord shiftings and it'll be ready. I've settled on the tuning of B-D-G-C-F, basically D standard with the Low B left alone. Delicious.
