Those John Petrucci Music Mans are seriously some of the best playing guitars I've ever had the experience of trying. If you can demo one, do it. I played one through a Peavey JSX and owned the sales floor.

I prefered the MusicMan Axis to the JP sigs. Maple felt better and idk I guess i just like my nuts locked. Tonezone > D-Sonic in basswood/maple fwiw too.

Nobody over here ever stocks them, so i've never even seen one in the flesh, let alone tried one damn, just thought, if i went to music live today i might have gotten to, but i had to do some work instead, sucks

could just be the lighting, it's the same as it's ever been, albeit with a more fancy top.

you can buy compression sustainers (not a fernandes, obviously), but i don't think it does the same thing?

Nah they just compress it so it seems like the sustain is longer when you're just hearing the lower sounds compressed I thought he meant a fernandes pedal system.

I know Fernandes doesn't make pedals, but I was under the impression that a Sustainer and a Compressor where both different pedals with respective functions. If they aren't, why do companies manufacture and sell them both?

nah it's the same thing, you can get the compressor without the sustain function but a sustainer has to have compression. The fernandes system works on actually keeping the string moving i think, like an ebow?
