I had a similar problem on the "Keep Off The Sand" Achievement. I made it to the very end up to the point where you fight the Giant Ant Lion (whatever the *bleep* it's called) Anyways I got to the fight, and there's nothing to stand on! There are a few boxes that you MIGHT be able to use, but it's damn tough. It's too difficult to move between the boxes, and they'll knock you off a box if you're standing stationary.

Anyone manage to that this Achievement?

sorry to say this but you musta screwed up becuz ur supposed to get the achievement right b4 this fight.like when you fall down the first ledge.

There is no glitch. It is plain and simple, you cannot use any other weapon, including the crowbar. I just made it through and got the achievement. I was worried when I got to the mines and it gave me the achievement for getting through the cemetery with the guy but didn't get the 25 for Zombie Chopper. I made it through the mines. Yes, the barnacle got me the first time but I didn't panic and bring out the crow bar. I let him kill me and it loaded the last save. I avoided the barnacle string the next time. As soon as you get out to the train yard it gives you the achievement. Then, only then, did I use the shotgun for the first time. Pulling a weapon does not count, but using one, even the crowbar, counts.

took me about 15, going as fast as i felt safe, and taking every non-sand shortcut i could. but that involved a lot of retries when i wasn't sure if i touched sand or not.

The sandtraps one, where you can't step on the sand, does not count that last battle with the Antilion. However, be weary, many times you do hit the sand but the Antilions don't come up from the sand. Even tapping the sand ever so lightly nullfies the achievement.

I suggest using the long plank of wood and one of those large metal frames/doors, it makes it easier. Can be done in 10 minutes, I'd say.

Also, the Antilion guard can be beated w/o going on the sand... I collected a bunch of barrels, built a small fort for myself on the sand and killed him with 6 barrels. It was difficult.

Yeah, I think DMD is right here. When I thought back, I thought the achievement was 'Make it through Ravenholm without using guns', when in reality, it's 'Make it through Ravenholm using only the Gravity Gun'.

And if I do try it again, I won't be testing the crowbar idea. >_<

Exactly. There's an achievement in episode one where it specifically says that you can use the crowbar, grenades, rocket and gravity gun but only fire one bullet (the one bullet required to open a door).

Because of that, I don't know why they would leave out you being able to use the crowbar in Ravenholm. If someone wants to test it, go for it. I just figured that because the achievement explanation was so specific for another achievement, they wouldn't just forget to tell us we'd be able to use the crowbar.

The achievement says you have to make it through Ravenholm using ONLY the gravity gun. =/

What the fudge? You can use the crowbar!?

If so, I certainly made that level tougher than it had to be. =_=

I assumed you couldn't use any weapon besides the gravity gun, and I still believe that is the case, unless someone can tell me otherwise.
