quote candersonhey! but he told you at the first time u_u, I dont think your first die be on acid rain =PI died by the damn ACID RAIN. That drained all 9 of my energy tanks in like 5 seconds. That was so unexpected.
quote zebra cakesoh my god how many of us did that???The first time I saw the game over screen was during the meteor countdown in the beginning of the game. Since it didn't show an actual countdown clock, I assumed I had infinite time, and was just playing around. When I realized there was actually a voice counting down, it was too late to reach the generator.
quote LinKing12Yeah I agree that switching in and out of hypermode is a useful tactic. that's how i also destroyed the two turrets. it also helped me during the Mining Cannon fight and when you have to bomb Mogenar's feet during his boss fight.Yes, the first time I died was on Norion, too! I didn't believe the whole countdown thing since there was no on-screen timer. So I took my time scanning and viewing the scenery, then all of a sudden, I was dead.
That was normal mode. I never died on veteran mode, but Hyper Mode? I must have died about 10 different times. But the first time was in the part where you had to destroy the two anti-air turrets on Bryyo. After that, I realized that I could go in and out of hyper mode and not take damage when in hyper mode. So I spammed the + button and finally won.
quote DiachronosI don't remember for sure, but I think when I first died from Acid rain it was because I doubted how dangerous it was and I purposely stood in it to see if I was right. After a few seconds I realized that yes, it actually is quite dangerous. Another time was when I was fighting Gandrayda, my controller's connection was interrupted and i couldnt do anything as i ran into the acid rain.Mining Cannon, first playthrough on Normal.
Got hit by a Phazon Grenade and forced into Hyper Mode; I figured I could charge the beam and let out enough in time to survive.... What a wake-up call when I died.
Turns out the Phazon meter doesn't drain until AFTER the charged shot finishes....
And HONESTLY: How do you die from the Acid Rain?! There's practically paths on the ground showing you where to walk, and you're told from the start that Acid Rain = pain. I never took more than an entire Energy Tank's worth of damage from the stuff in the entire time I've had the game; what little damage I did take was from getting used to the safe spots.
quote stickdude97Sometimes the NPCs actually know what they're talking about. If only it was a more common anomaly; then maybe people wouldn't fall prey to the on-in-a-million NPC who's actually smart.Although I'm quite good at the game now (100% on veteran, 6:53 play time) the first time i died was rather sad, i think. it was during the countdown to reach the control tower on Norion. I was one of the people who didnt think the person announcing that the meteriorite was going to hit very soon was serious XD and also there was this part where i didnt figure out that i had to turn around to jump onto a new ledge =P
Yeah, the acid rain was also much more deadly than i expected.
quote Nightslayerlol yeah i wanted to corrupt myself to see the animation too but then i decided not too. i managed to see the animation later when i died against Dark Samus. My first death by combat was against the robot thing on Elysia (names don't come easily when you've been away from the game for months).
My first death by corruption was when I wanted to see what the death animation looks like if you get corrupted.
