I would be both... multiple personality style...but seriously.. I would rather be vergil... he is much more fun... I resemble more with Vergil as personality... maybe that's the reason...
and as a personal note after playing with Vergil for a few days, can say that Vergil is a better player than Dante

I would choose Vergil just because I know what he's been through. All though I would never stab my twin sister in the gut with a sword... BUT I WANT TO RULE THE DEMON WORLD!!! Also because Vergil has better game play than Dante. Dante would have never beaten Vergil if it weren't for me trying to unlock Vergil without the unlock every thing cheat.

Lol, Best with Trickster, Dante sucked with the Yamato in DMC4 I was completely disappointed in it's lack of abilities and his overall lack of skill with the dark slayer style.
I don't know where you get this idea that Dante is so much stronger than Vergil as they split their fights to one win, one loss, and one tie each. Not to mention Vergil was incredibly weakened when fighting Mundus, it's not surprising he lost. I bet he would have done work on Mundus if at full strength.

I'd be Dante, Virgil's cool, but he's just a bit too evil for my liking.

Vergil, but hell, I'd be fine being either one. Only reason Dante beat Vergil was because I was controlling Dante (and everyone else good enough to beat him).

I prefer playing as Virgil in DMC3: SE. He is a character that I relate to more than Dante and in my opinion he is cooler than Dante anyway. His ability to scroll between 3 weapons instead of just 2 mixes things up a little bit and he has a potential fro greater combos. Plus, I like his whole 'summon swords' thing and i often just summon a shield of swords and lets enemies run into me and kill themselves... it's hilarious!
Virgil is a 'I don't beat around no bush' sort of character and it's that that gives him his edge. It's even better when you play with the Nelo Angelo costume.
