If I have never played a Contra game, when I get this one will it fill me in or will I be confused?

#1 no one plays contra for the story
#2 according to some sources this is the best contra game in years.
#3 Once you beat the game and do some other stuff you get contra and super c, the first two nes contra games.
#4 if you dont know anything about contra, its all about the boss battles, and insane difficulty.
