Okay, I'm going to come right out and say it: this game is NOT, I repeat, NOT supposed to be a 'prequel' to the entire Spyro series!!!!! Is this why so many people hate this game? Because they THINK that it's a prequel?

For God's sake, people, it's a REBOOT for the series. Look it up in the damn dictionary.

As stated exactly off of a Spyro website, "Although it was first advertised as a prequel to the first Spyro game, this game is in fact a reboot to the series, starting off from scratch and having nothing to do with the previous games." Really now, what part of A NEW BEGINNING do you not understand?

I personally love this game. The graphics are way better than other Spyro games. There's actually more of a plot. Spyro's new moves are awesome. The new characters are adorable and funny. I love all of the characters' voices.

And, OMG, there's something else people hate about this game: they hate the fact that Sparx now actually has a PERSONALITY. Really, let's all hate a character that pretty much couldn't even speak before now that he can speak properly and actually has his own personality and life. Give. Me. A. *bleep*ing. Break. Poor Sparx and David Spade.

I'm really not trying to start trouble here. I am a huge fan of ALL Spyro games and I like many different things about each of them. I just don't understand why people think that this is a prequel when it is completely different than other Spyro games. If it was part of the series, all of the Spyro games would be screwed up and the storyline would not make any sense whatsoever.

So, please, if you hate this game, don't even comment on here. If you do like it, feel free to comment.
Oh, and I give this game a 4/5.

The only thing I didn't like was that you had to fight the same monsters over and over again.

Yeah TEN was just a big copy of ANB, i was disappointed by that. DOTD (ive finished it now) is better than the first 2 in the TLOS trilogy. Great game.

Just so you know, Enter The Dragonfly really isn't worth buying. It's full of glitches, takes a hella long time to load between worlds, and there's hardly any plot to it.

Eternal Night's a good play; a nice sequel to A New Beginning, because you have all the same moves and whatnot. Only thing is, it's got almost the same plot as A New Beginning.

Still, much more worth it than Enter the Dragonfly.

The third game in the Legend Of series? Have fun playing it -- it's amazing. My favorite of the series, though I haven't finished it yet.

I was reading reviews of it today, and apparently critics are saying that it was lacking in comparison to the other Legend Of games. (Which is complete nonsense because it beats any other Spyro game -- you can actually FLY.)

Yeah the story is one thing that surpasses the originals. I got the third game now, but i haven't played it yet...can't wait.

Mm, a few of my friends said they don't like it because it's so different to the original.

I personally love all the Spyro games. They're all unique in their own way. The new moves in TLOS series are absolutely amazing, the graphics are great, and Sparx isn't a bee on steroids!

A New Beginning, when I played it, was great, and I love how the storyline moves through all three of the released games, unlike in the original.

4.5/5 for me.

Its a good game but gets repetitive. One of the great parts are the bosses....the ideas of those are awesome. The second game in the TLOS series is just an exact copy of this one, same bosses (to an extent) same enemies, same moves...

Dunno about the third though haven't played it yet.

I've just started it... I don't mind it... not as good as the orginal 3...

This is the 4th i have.... (thje original 3 being my other 3)...

In ratings i say

Spyro 3
Spyro 2/This game
Spyro

I put those two together as I haven't been able to go around fully

But Spyro 3 finally had alot more put into it, you had the sparx mini levels, being able to play as the aussie roo, the army bird, skateboarding...

This one so far, I haven't been asked to play as any character other than spyro...

The second thing i don't like so much about it is the whole body attacks thing...

Personally I have found it to lead to just standing in one pspot and mashing the O button and then moving to the next bit bashing the button again.. rather than the whole charge etc..

3) The charge has lost its awesomeness.. charge in the original 3 was a destroying attack.. in this its just running faster...

4) I found it slightly harder to control... doesn't matter much

5) Flame bar.... oh, first the charge attack goes and now the flame attack... now u really have to mash the O button...

6) Bashing the same old enemy.. i haven't seen many enemies yet... and each lot seems to run at you and you hit O for ages until you meat the enxt lot..hiopefully this will change

On the other side the graphics are rather spify and for a reboot (which is always going to be different to teh originals), it isn't that bad.. infact its pretty good...

Overall i nice idea.. doesn't beat spyro 3... but it would be very hard to do such a thing...

I'm enjoying the game alot.

P.S Search spyro forums click syro the dragon foroms and go on spyro's story i bet us lot could liven it up a bit

The only thing i hate about this game is that they took away all the old characters of the spyro series. Yes i know its a reboot in the series.

but that doesn't stop me from playing it.

i caught a heart attack(jk) when i heard gary oldman was gonna be in the game.
