OK, for GDI i use the steel talons, or core GDI. the idea is generally the same, do u want preds and APCs, or titans and wolvies?
given the APCs can garrison infantry, diversifiying them, plus the pred and APC are both cheaper than their steel talon counter part, but the steel talon units have a little more armour i think...
Its when u get to the artillery that the steel talons take the cake, the behemoth seems to be a little more accurate to me with its shells, plus u can garrison infantry into those also, missle guys for AA capable artillery, sweet...
Now to the down side of things...we all know the juggy and the behemoth are walker units, and therefore weak to commandos...but did u you know that titans are weak to commandos also? they are, so u may wanna take that into consideration when chosing your GDI faction. I havnt seen a wolvy get taken out by a commando, but they're walkers too arnt they? Think about it...
In conclusion, i tend to use core GDI a little more, but still love to see titans and wolvies make a mess on ocassion..

Actually I'm ps2fan4life but I never sign in because I hardly care about neoseeker for my RTS forum needs. So I just go with random names. I'm also 'someone you know'.
Anyone who lets his opponent build up a load of PACs is not playing a no-rush game. Otherwise when you scout his signal transmitter, bomb it with Firehawks, then go for the tech buildings and send him back to the stone age. If your opponent gets a PAC or two, use some Tungsten Slingshots if you don't want to micro your Firehawks. Just send them in with caution, so they can take out the little ships, and then proceed to attack the capital ship without problems. If you have Mantis/any rocket-based AA, go for the main body to avoid overkill on the little ships.

jeez, i thought this thread was pretty much dead, but u unwashed heathens r keeping it goin huh?
if a sizable force of dev OR PACs manages to get built AND reach ur base, then u have not been scouting or something, and if so, what were YOU doing while ur enemy was creating ur encroaching doom? while not unsurvivable, they are hard to defend against, if u have the proper units and defenses, and are good at the uber micro, then u have a chance...
just be warned, a truly skilled player never puts everything he/she has into a single attack unless absolutely necessary...so even if u shoot em all down, be ready for a clean up force to follow up, likely small quick units, or if u have really messed up, possibly tripods or devourers...
the best thing to do is not let ur opponent get that far, scout, take out expansions, harass their harvester, even if u dont destroy it, anything to distract, and keep them from getting that tib
Firehawks rule the sky with anti-air. Seriously, if you let your enemy build a load of pacs, you've lost already.
that is aload of bull... seeing as this is KANES wrath we get tungston shells and you have clearly never turled... any way you just set up enough anti air around you then keep placing new ones down where (if you know) your going to be attacked. and then bring em down with ur air (unless your black hand in which case you use mantises aswell) like fire hawks and venoms... MAKE SURE THEY CANNOT INITIATE ION STORM! if they start an ion storm in your base then your chances of survival dramtically drop.
Tbh its just a spam of fifty freaking dev's that you have to wach out for... sniping ur defences without recieving any damage this is where holding a strong air capability comes in freaking handy as they wont just wait there doing minimal damage and getting shot down... they charge you and enter range for your AA and this should bring em down but WATCH your power and airfields as they will eb vulnerable now and dev's do a *bleep* laod of damage when they concentrate

personaly i love the titans and wolvys, hwoever there lack of sonic turrets kinds screws it up as they did have disrupters (and the fact that im a turtle), and for purifiers and DESCENT tank commander with some mammys can trake out quite alot of purifiers you just need to remember to keep em in range but move them away (as they have longer range then puri flame AND can fire while moving) and for bringing down PAC's just get aload of rocket troopers and focus fire ... the only porblem is DEV's which youl need firehawks for... and/or trust in your AA to keep em busy while you attempt to take em down.
ZOCOM= no real attack force STEEL TALONS = no real defence against tier three units if units are away or destroyed GDI = brilliant mix and can be bloody annoying =]. Sorry if i went of point a bit

the best strategie i have found with the steel tolons that beets the most ug uys have come up with is that the titans are shock troopers send them in with some firehawk airsupport wait till they take out generators then mop up with mammoths one thing is u might need emp rail exlerator and stuff to take out the generators and if u dont get the aa u screwed but i consider them goood suicidal runs (dance with the angles)

yea, but i also find that just sending PACs to do all the work can sometimes get a little boring, like im sure many ppl do, i use devastators for mid to late game scouting as well as a strike force if u have enough of em, im thinking about...no less than 8, then mix in a couple PACs for stealth detection & to mix up the attacks, plus the ion storm...

PACs are hard to take down without micromanagement, as units have a tendency to shoot at the fighter-things rather than the actual carrier, and if one creates an ion storm all the aircraft get bonuses, as well as ion lightening strikes on nearby unfortunate people. A titan & wolverine force would die pretty quickly, as would any force without AA.

versus a horde of PACs??
rocket or missle spam, cheap and AA, or, spam slingshots with the upgrade for that, or, fire hawks, with the missle loadout and the hardpoints upgrade...
and i find that when using the steel talons, i tend to favor the titan and wolverine, guess its just nastalgia, cause air units completly pawn a titan & wolvy strike force..lol, no AA...

I don't think the Steel Talons have more AA than anybody particularly, though they do rely on mammoth tanks, among other things, and they have AA rockets. In fact, I reckon a force of planetary assault carriers could take down a Steel Talon armoured column, (there probably isn't much that they can't kill).
