Welcome to the forum, y'all. With Slant Six helming their second Socom game, (while Zipper Int' works from the sidelines), there are many new expectations considering this online-only installment to the series. For those of you that plan to camp in the forum and stick around for discussion when the game's released, feel free to introduce yourself here, maybe add some of your Socom gaming history to boot.

I've never played the first two Socom games, but have The PS2's Socom 3, 4 (combined assault), and have the PSP's Socom: Fireteam Bravo 1 and 2, as well as Slant Six's Socom: Tactical Strike.

The series has had some pretty serious flaws to date, but has always maintained an enjoyable online experience. Thankfully the PS3 version will be pretty much impossible to hack, so i'm looking forward to a smooth, and tactical online gaming experience with Confrontation.

Hey guys, I am Sonic Wave. You may have seen me in the Gears of War 2 forum (sometimes 1 as well), Halo 3, and Fable forums. I just got this game today, because I was looking for just the wireless headset, but it is kind of a better deal to get the game. I hope it is fun and that I can play with some of you in campaign mode.

Hello, I'm xJC, I run a team called KUI for SOCOM, and I've been around since the original SOCOM. I don't like to talk myself a "SOCOM Vet" because it's played out, I'll stick to experianced SOCOMer. I used to go by the name Mr-Lonely, but due to Sony for some odd reason not allowing me to use that name, I cannot restore my image on the PS3 SOCOMs. I spend most of my time in game helping people improve their SOCOM skills, or just helping the newcommers learn the game, and give them a few pointers and what not.

I'm with Rajin on this one guys, please only use this thread as an Introduction thread and not a General Discussion. It's best to create different threads for each topic at this stage of the game. Thanks guys. ;D

Hey hey, this isn't meant for general discussion, it's an intro thread. Create stand-alone threads for individual topics please. It helps the forum grow, and allows people to really go into detail about each particular discussion without it being bumped down so people can talk about something else, etc.

The more pages on the forum, the easier is to create an index thread, so all the important/high-traffic threads can be categorized and posted at the top of the forum, making it easier to keep track of for recurring forum visitors, and new folks alike.

FF and DG? Ooo, sounds like this game is gonna go back to it's roots, and focus on gameplay. I'm excited now. I like games better, when they don't COMPLETELY change the gameplay, and just make the gameplay better than the last version.

it took me about 2 hours to log on after i had to update my system, the game, my system and the game again. Then for some reason, it kept resetting my internet connection and kicking me off. I was eventually able to play FF and DG which looked similar but better than the originals. I think the game is gonna be really fun once they figure out the connection issues.

How was it? Would you say it has high action pace like Socom 2?
I wish I could tell you.....spent nearly 4 hours trying to get the network initialized and all downloads installed only to sit in lobbies and continuously be kicked out before even starting games.

When I did finally get into a small match it was extremely laggy and everyone was bouncing all over the place. Some people would completely disappear and then reappear behind you right in front of your eyes. I prob won't turn this back on again for a few days until they fix their bugs.
