I've implemented a feature which will let anyone level 3 or above help get an article approved!

If you've submitted an article before you've seen the pending queue.
http://www.gamegrep.com/pending/

Now, if you're level 3+ you can see other peoples articles in the queue. You can "approve it". if an article gets 5 approvals the article will be published. You cannot approve your own article.

We hope this feature will help in getting your articles approved faster than what the current approval times are.

Please note that the levels and the number of approvals can be adjusted. This feature is in the beta testing stages. Adjustments will be made to it over time.

Happy Grepping!

Ok, thanks Avalith. I may be a bit slow but I'm still learning who everyone is and what everything does on both here and Neoseeker!

I've had issues on-and-off with this feature. The way I ALWAYS do it is click read more, than click go to source, and if everything's ok click to approve. But it only ever works about 20% of the time so I don;t even try as much as I used to.

Also... can I ask what happens with the reports? Where do they go and who gets to read them? Only there's a few submissions I've reported as duplicate before that have still got through. Only one or two though, and not recently...

I like to make use of my right to approve/reject something, however, in the end a "real mod" comes in and finishes the job anyways so it does seem kind of useless (but I do like seeing what is up in the queue)

I fear sites that have multiple users on Grep could easily abuse this system (then again, I'm sure they would just as easily be caught/site be banned).

Huzzah it worked, thanks

Still don't think its necessary though

If the approve it button isn't working, you probably didn't view the source article first. You have to access the source via GameGrep before it will allow you to approve an article.

Did you read the article first? I'm sure it's got a device which means you have to read it first before you can click it, though if it's not working after reading then I'm not sure.

I don't think it's so much a requirement of incentives but rather that most members don't know about it. If they don't care, I'd rather not try and encourage non carers because it probably won't help.

I never saw the reason for the feature anyway, most of the time if its approved it has to be edited later for faults the people overlooked anyway.

And the button never works for me anyway

Should there be more of an incentive to use this feature? I mean the last few days I've seen the pending queue back up for almost 6 hours at a time. Maybe if members where given a reason to help speed up the approval process they would use it more often. Obviously there would need to be consequences if you approved an inappropriate article though.
