I own a PS2 and a Gamecube and can't decide which platform version to buy. I'm leaning towards the PS2 version just because of the possibility of Surround Sound. Does anyone have info on which version will be the one to get?

i think the controls for this game are perfect on the xbox, it has the right feel of control to each mode. i was a bit unsure about the guardian mode until i discovered the hover mode variation. this game plays like a dream

Hmm, well I only tried it with my Controller S, and I have no problems. The other 2 buttons are only for switching your target, and you can pretty much just smash em anyway, with out being to particular, so I don't see why the XBOX controller would be an issue. Also I like the analog stick placement better on the XBOX controller.

Don't know about the Game Cube but I've got the XBOX version and my friend has the PS2 Version. In my opinion the PS2 is easier to play because of the controller layout. I was initially frustrated with the XBox controls enough so that I almost returned the game. I still think monkeys must have derived the game play set up but have really enjoyed the game now that I've gotten use to it.

Hey if you are comtimplateing between PS2 and GameCube then PS2 will be better just becuase you could have beatin it before you could get it on GameCube. Think becuase GameCube is on different media that it was postponed. I mean PS2 and Xbox bot just use standard DVD media.

Well I have the XBOX version and it has very clean looking crisp graphics and multiplayer.
Also for anyone interested, the NGC version of the game has been postponed 2 to 3 weeks.

i heard that the xbox versions got cleaner graphics but is only a single player mode and the ps2's a multiplayer. correct me if i'm wrong please, i've just found out very little if no news about this game. any help will be appreciated.

I'll be getting the PS2 version. Sure, PS2 may be the only system I have right now, but I'm really fond of the PS2 controller. If the controls are similar to what I imagine, then the PS2 version will have the best controls.

I really haven't had any hands on time obviously, and I might or might not, but I think you well know, I pretty much buy the XBOX version, but given that, The NGC is a superior system over the PS2. Should have quicker loading, maybe slightly sharper graphics, maybe smoother play. I can only base my opinion on what is known about multi console games out now, and thus far, games generally look better (same game title) on the NGC. Now maybe this won't be the case for future games though. Maybe look at reviews for Turok. That is a multi-console game that was released on the systems the same day, not allowing time to 'make it better.' There should be reviews soon. I would also tend to buy it for whatever system you plan to keep the longest - in case you were not planning on keeping one around forever, then why buy the game on that system, right!

Also I own a PS2 and have no problems with it, and an XBOX, I do plan on possibly buying a NGC, but not until next spring.

Thanks for the reply!!! Is there any particular reson you would recommend the Gamecube version over the PS2 version?

Aug 30, 02 09:35PMGravity

If you have only those 2 systems, I would imagine that the Gamecube version would be the one to get, but I am not yet aware of what is better. Wait for the game to be released, and read the reviews. That should give you the best info.
