Now that I've finished the game (and witnessed the greatest horror storyline ever told in the history of horror stories) I started reading around the main kid's blog some more. I stumbled onto one of his entries and it said as if followed:

quote
Me and my family must have bullseyes painted on our backs or something.
Two days ago I got spammed with an email from some crank inviting me to ride out to nowhere, and now my dad got a call from a Japanese person claiming to be his long lost grandson.
I don't have any brothers or sisters, so unless there's something I don't know,
he doesn't have a grandson, let alone a Japanese one.
Apparently it's a big scam now where people pretend to be a family member in order to get free clothing.
The guy on the phone said he survived a plane crash on an island, but that his socks were all eaten by a smoke monster. Why clothing? Why not just ask for cash?
Pretty hard to explain how this references to Siren 2 if you haven't finished the game. But the best clues I have is from the parts that I bolded, the guy on the phone said that he survived a plane crash on an island and apparently "smoke monsters" ate his socks. I may be reading a little bit too much into this, but Siren 2 takes place in an island called Yamijima Island where another Shibito incident takes place.

Though in Siren 2, there is another type of undead called "Yamibito" in which they're seen as "smoke" until they can possess a Shibito.

Yo, Seeker X! Remember me, mate?!

Anyway, the *bleep* is that? There is a Siren 2 game already? And I haven't even complete that goddamn game!

I've completed the 7th episode until the PS3 game system *bleep*ed up and lost the memory data.

Now that I'm back to the 1st episode and have to do it all over again! *bleep*in' A!!

Makes sense, I never read anything or seen anything mentioning Yamirei or Shiriyo anywhere. I know about teh military crew's fate, but considering that Blood Curse did not have the original crew from the first game, chances are that if there is another remake, the original crew will probably not be involved either (though I sure as hell hope they bring back the blind guy).

After recently playing Siren 2 i can say that only three people crash on the island (it is called Yamijima Island) by plane (spoiler's ahead!) Yorito Nagai, Takeaki Misawa and Hiroshi Okita, Hiroshi dies when the plane crashes and becomes a Shibito and later a Yamibito, (spoiler's ahead!) Takeaki later dies and becomes a Yamibito and Yorito (Ending Spoiler!!!) fall's into the Yamibito dimension and goes insane seeing Yamibito's walking around like normal people doing their daily things, then embark's on a killing spree. so im not sure who the person the blog is talking about is. Oh and the Yamibito's are not seen as smoke, Shiryo's are the smoke monsters which possess corpses to become Shibito's. i believe it is the Yamirei which possess Shibito's and become Yamibito's.

I'm going to go ahead and give it a try. I'll order a copy and try some various things out and tell you if it will work or not and how I did it.

Well now that you mention it, the Swap Magic disc MIGHT help with that problem. You can give it a try, but obviously there's no guarantee there...shit now I wanna buy it just for Siren 2.

Hmm. Are you certain you'd have to mod it? I've heard all you have to have is a TV which will display both PAL and NTSC, and I already have a TV which supports that. Also, using Swap Magic disc. I wouldn't really be able to figure out if a PAL disc would play if I don't have one though.

I'd say there's nothing more reliable than Amazon, really. Though you still have to mod your PS2 first before you try the game since it's region locked and all.

Do you know of a reliable website to purchase a copy from?

Jul 29, 08 11:42PMSeeker X

You can find plenty of Siren 2 copies online, but they're either in PAL or JPN formats. You'd need to mod your PS2 before you can play the game.

Would Siren 2 even play on NTSC/American PS2 consoles anyways? I just so happened to find one online a moment ago.
