Muahaha Cruxis you had little to no success over here. Imma take this as my domain.

Nah jk. What are your expectations on this game guizez? Looks pretty. I haven't played the other two, but I herd u liek mudkips that this is not a sequel per se, it's more like a spin-off.

So, what?

errr, you mean, the first game in the PE compilation?

and yes, I assume this game will have some similarities to DoC..
I think ya missing the point. I stating that SQUARE maybe planning to "remake" the Parasite Eve games with a new storyline. The original game was based on the novel by Hideoki Sena (and ya can find the movie have more similarities to it then the novel).

Now, they gonna remake the original PE1 game so they could explore new areas, situations and surroundings. At least, that's my guess.

I guess this based on the similarities I find between PE1 and the synopsis given.

Aya settling down with her life and even start to date. Everything look normal and she probably have a normal life now. Then the Twisters comes into the picture, she got new powers (which causes her to hallucinate), and her world turn upside down. Sound familiar to PE1?

Plus, both 3rd Birthday and PE1 was said to occur on Christmas Eve, in Manhattan.

I think 3rd Birthday IS the remake. But that is my guess.

It is possible that 3rd Birthday is beginning of Parasite Eve game for PS3, like Advent Children was for Final Fantasy 7 sagas which already counted at least two games on PS2 (Dirge of Cerebus) and PSP (Crisis Core).

That is an epic trailer but the wedding ring is rather too loose or no one was wearing it at the time.

The DKS3713 trailer for The 3rd Birthday will be included on a DVD accompanying a special Final Fantasy XIII magazine published by Enterbrain (publisher of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu), to be released on the 13th of December.

It will be the first trailer to be publicly released for the game.

For those that need a refresh, DKS3713 was an invitation-only event held by Square Enix earlier this year. The trailer shown was not the later one leaked from the Tokyo Game Show. It is instead the wedding one. IGN posted impression of the trailer to be included on the DVD.

While the trailer was rather short, it started out by focusing on events that occurred from the previous two games. This included many of the visually striking cutscenes in a montage that highlighted many of the monsters that Aya destroyed. This quickly moved into a scene where Aya walked down the aisle of an empty church in a wedding dress. However, it didn't appear that the wedding would fully take place, as a figure appeared in the doorway of the church. Suddenly, the glass and pews of the church crumbled and fell to the floor, as did the decorative flower arrangements inside. As Aya turned and raised a pistol, a wedding ring fell to the floor. With the floor slowly being covered in blood, the trailer ended and the logo flashed up on screen.

Orly? Square owned them?
Squaresoft has published their games, they were a development studio under them, like Caivia who made Drakengard or something like that.

Orly? Square owned them?

In any case, at least they went on to do something really cool - I owned Kengo. Series never really took off here, but they did make sequels in Japan. In any case, Square still holds the rights to the series - yet it stays dead.
They could always bug Dream Factory.

Bushido Blade was another series lost in transition (more like dumped).
this is wrong actually. Bushido Blade developers (Light Weight studio) left Squaresoft after the second game (kinda like the devs behind the original Medal of Honor left EA) and continued making games under Genki. Kengo - Master of bushido was the spiritual successor for BB.

Lack of interest and sales were paling on comparison to their other titles. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't that great. Also, the type of game that it was, it took a lot of time to create the environs and such, similar looking environs that were being tossed into their latest FF's of the time. 2 and 2 together, just focus on the big seller. Bushido Blade was another series lost in transition (more like dumped). I believe they also published Tobal#1, as well as Ehrgeiz, both which showed a lot of potential. Nothing came of them. (Though from Square's encounter with Dream Factory on the Ehrgeiz game, they did test the waters with The Bouncer).

That didn't prove too well. It wasn't horrible, but still wasn't that great. They once again applied the advancement in visual effects elsewhere. But by this time, the company was going through some pretty rough times; they didn't really have a choice at that point.

That's like saying "Why did they wait 7 years to announce a sequel to Final Fantasy VII", really.
how 's it the same? they just decided to start milking their old games by that time, and FF7 was the first. but PE series was just forgoten after the second game.

Parasite Eve probably got lost in the transition from the PS1 to PS2 and in the Square/Enix merger
I hope so..

Parasite Eve probably got lost in the transition from the PS1 to PS2 and in the Square/Enix merger, the team probably all moved on to other projects and they've only just now decided "Hey, should we give this a go, again?"

That's like saying "Why did they wait 7 years to announce a sequel to Final Fantasy VII", really.
