k i know how to unlock all the cheats like beating a certain level in a certain time limit but can i use cheats when im trying the level to unlock the cheat?

do you have to pick a misson with no cheats, then, do i have to pause the game then put in the button codes. then if it works will i still get the cheat after i beat it with the time limit

No, time pauses as well as the game, but it keeps going in the process of pausing, when you're getting the watch out.

You can use the push button cheats you enter while playing, but you can't use the cheat menu cheats to do it.
