First off, It is Princess Kiku, not Riku. She is the blonde woman from Final Fantasy X

I agree with you this game is fun. But at the same time Shadow Assassins is too much of a formula. Compared to the rest of the Tenchu series this feels like a puzzle game- constantly trying to find the method or correct move to advance in the stage without being spotted.

Of course they took the 'get spotted and get chased' style gameplay out as a change from the normal stealth cookie-cutter game. No mistaking it: this game is definitely a Tenchu game- at the atmosphere and mechanics are there. I just don't want to be zapped back to a checkpoint everytime i am spotted, instead of being forced to use stealth elements to escape. That is where the fun and tactics can be felt most.

Don't get me wrong, i like this game, but it's not as much as 'like' as all the Tenchu's before it.

And i don't like the story much. Thoughts on Shadow Assassins' storyline???

Try Shadow mode if you want to see armored guys.
i stoped playing due to ayame being the most IDIOTIC character EVER, she had a perfect way to climb onto a brenhc and she fell OFF its on the escort princess riku stage i was angry, and i dont want to see those guys anymore they are completley onto steroids, i tired to kill one from behind moving without making noise, and suddendly he discovered me WITHOUT turning back *sigh* fun game but the enemies are extremley badass to be looked up.

Collecting all the map pieces in the game grants Rikimaru access to his legendary Izayoi sword, which is unbreakable. Ayame is given unbreakable swords as well.

Yes the areas aren't as open ended as the older Tenchu's but I actually thought this one has more options on how to deal with each situations. In the older ones even though it was a big map there was usually a certain way to deal with each guard, where as now in almost every level there is a variety of ways to kill the enemies and/or proceed. The item use allows for you to deal with situations the way you choose. Although some are more effective than others.

Each level is very carefully thought out so that there are lots of different hiding spots and strategies if you are willing to look. As I said before for better or worse(I think for better) this is just a different type of game.

I guess that's cool, if it's the direction they're going in, I trust Aquire. I just hope they make the maps more open for the sequels.

Do you feel you miss the grappling hook much, and rooftop running?
