Hello all, I am your average gamer. And I am looking for a new game to play.
A bit about myself:
My name is Brentt (two t's ). I am 18 and I just graduated high school. I have a full time job and I'm looking for a game I can come home to at night and just sit back and relax on.

A few years ago when I used to visit my dad he got this awesome new game called SWG. I started playing this game (this was back when I didn't know wtf I was doing) and I was just blown away by this game! I didn't even know what I was doing and I was having a blast!

But now I am back and I have played the trial version and the game seems okay, I am coming from WoW so it'll be a relief to get that off my mind.

Basically what i am asking is, what kind of guts do i need in my computer to run this game smoothly with nice graphics? This is what I have at the moment :

Microsoft windows XP
Home edition
version 2002
service pack3

Dell dimension DIME521
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 DUAL
Core Processor 3600+
1.90 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

I lag when I play the trial so what upgrades would I have to do, and are there gamer cards I can buy at gamestop or something to add to my accounts game time?

Not so. Always new players starting, and guilds recruiting.

I decided I'm not going to play Star Wars Galaxies. I still have it installed on my computer in case I change my mind. Not going to play because I won't really have anyone to level up with and do quests with and what not.

I would recommend having a PC with atleast a 2K GHZ core rate. I used to have a 1.7GHZ and 1.9GHZs are about the samething. The vast majority are either using the 2K or 3K cores. If you got the money...I'd say go with the 3K GHZ processor.

You only got 1Gigs of RAM eh? That's considered to be outdated already. Either 2Gigs or 3Gigs of RAM will do the trick. You can find 2Gigs of RAM for 20USD or so these days.

I would also recommend switching that Home to a XP Pro edition.

As for the game itself, go for it if you want to. I'm a seasoned veteran (of 03) and have experienced the new stuff in 2005...it's all downhill here. As of now I'm retired...I might return someday. But don't get people like myself telling you otherwise.

You can get the game at most likely these locations: Wal-Mart, Target, Gamestop, Bestbuy. Stay clear of K-Mart...it's known as Shit-Mart.

Okay where can I buy the game and get monthly game cards?

rofl they added a in game card game? good god they are desperately running low on ideas.

I recently visited swg again and i found the severs pretty much empty.

The one thing this game no longer holds is 'atmosphere', this means it is a below average game which wont hold your interest for longer than a couple of weeks (days in my case)

I always defend this game !
SWG took a real nose dive but has since done loads of new stuff and server populations are rising.
Expect a new heroic instance/planet coming soon.. HOTH!

Not to mention the recently added in game trading card game.

I would really advice that you don't buy the game if you played it a few years ago.

The game has gone downhill and is borderline empty now.
