This is just something I've just been thinking of;

Neowiki contributors and Neowiki staff get tags, so would it be possible for Gamegrep contributors get tags too ?

Gamegrep is an "external" part of Neoseeker, much like the portals, and so it would be an idea for members who contribute to Gamegrep to be able to receive tags, much like the people who contribute to the Neowiki's.

It could work in a few ways;

Members receive tags for earning a certain amount of points on Gamegrep each week, much like how Neowiki contributors get their tags ( If my understanding of how that system works is correct ).
Only members in the top contributors lists would receive tags.
Gamegrep approvers and moderators would also receive tags, like how the Neowiki staff tags work.

Gaining the tags via Neowiki's is often seen as an incentive to contribute to the wiki's and so adding tags would most likely attract new members to Gamegrep, which is arguably one of the lesser known Neoseeker sites.

I'm sure the Gamegrep regulars would like the chance to show their devotion to the site too.

As for the approvers gaining tags, it would save members having to follow several links to discover the list if they already know how the approvers and moderators are via posting on Neoseeker.

It's just an idea ~~and Dark Arcanine forced me to make it.~~ Arguably Gamegrep points can already be put on display, but a visual indicator always serves better than a load of numbers below your post count, which most people miss.

Tags would be great, I know that my Pokemon Wiki tag attracted a lot of attention to the wiki so why not gamegrep tags? The staff/contributor system would work great as well.

I think bobbonew is right, just those two tags would be nice. Just like the Wiki tags and the top contributors of the month get recognised on GameGrep anyway.

Who's kidding who - deep down - every seeker is a tag hunter to some extent.

Giving them a feasibly attainable tag (much like the WikiContributor tag) - would be great promotion and publicity.

No you should only get a Gamegrep Staff tag for being a moderator and approver. You shouldn't be getting a top contributor tag dude, its not like we give those out for neopoints.

Like I said above, it shouldn't be tag happy. Just a gamegrep staff tag, and Gamegrep Contributor to those who meet a certain points each week/month.

Either do it like that or by a system of hierarchy. But then it would take away top contributor and certain amount of points.

So yes, shiny new tags.

My main hope is the contributor one will bring new people, along with the recognition aspects.

Not sure how serious you were being there, but regardless I like that school of thought Krunal- not only because I too will have 3 shiny new tags (well 2 for now, but the 3rd should come before the end of the year), but also because it really encourages and promotes GameGrep.
