As far as 3D MK games go, this one is miles ahead of the rest in my opinion.

Mortal Kombat 4 was fun for it's time, the fact that the endings were movie sequences was a great addition.

MK Deadly Alliance was an enormous improvement in everyway.
Awesome selection of characters also.

Deception was also very good, and improved on the already great D.A. The konquest mode was a bit of a hit and miss. Some liked it, some didn't. I loved it until I went chest hunting.

Armageddon was fan service galore. A lot of the characters lacked any depth really, but the ability to play as anyone was an MK fans dream. The konquest mode was also vastly improved over Deception.

Now for MKDC. The fighting system has been revamped a bit, and for the better. The game plays brilliantly, there is just enough characters and the story mode (from what I have played) is awesome. Pity all of the DC characters are LAME though. I would have rathered Mortal Kombat vs Mortal Kombat.

I disagree with the person who said this game sucks. Sure it's less violent and the fatalities are very toned down, but I really like the new gameplay engine. It's a good game that would be even better if only the violence and fatalities weren't toned down. But at least the next Mortal Kombat will apparently be more violent than ever before and the real fatalities will be back.

this is a fantastic game, the fighting is excellent, voices are brilliant, nothing shallow about the gameplay, it's a breakthrough compared to the lackluster Armageddon.

This restores the old MK series to it's original glory.

The game was fun to play, but after a while, the game sucked. And most of the Fatalities/Heroic Brutalities sucked also, but there were a few that I thought were funny and/or cool.

You are right about Armageddon being crap, but I liked it slightly more than this game.

Hopefully the next installment will give MK a proper next-gen reboot.

Ah it's been so long since I played DA.

I never played Armageddon it looked a bit crap.

I do quite like Mk v DCU, i'd be happier if Reptile was still about though.

Deception was online and possibly DA.

Nope, DA didn't have online but Deception and Armageddon did.
