I'm sure we all have some wishes for what we want in the next Parasite Eve game.

Let's hear them!

ieyasu :

are you talking about mp5a5? yeah that is bad-ass, but was never a favorite bec. it eats a lot of ammunition (even if those are free, i just hate having to go back and reload). i usually fire grenades then slash at them w/ gunblade; not much damage compared to yours, but works for me

Yeah, MP5A5. Forgot the name. If ya think that eats too much bullets, I bet ya don't use the handgun Mr. Douglas gives ya (upon saving Flint) from the Fire-breathing NMC. That one eats up 100 bullets in one load.

Slashing doesn't cut it for me. Ya have to be too close to the target and sometimes, ya will miss. If the camera angle were bird-eye-view, than maybe I will use it.

now i remember that particular golem in neo-ark where you have to face your back first before he shows up! then insta' strangle - really annoying. the golems maybe be slow, but aya is slower lol so on topic, i'd really love to control an agile aya w/ very quick reflexes!

In the Living Quarters, or near the Freezer or at the Release Mechanism?

I can take out the Living Quarters invisible Golem with handgun but the other two places is hard. Not cos the Golem was stronger or smarter, but cos the space for Aya to manuerve is small. Ya have no choice but to put a wall behind yer back, grit yer teeth and fight it out.

this is a bit off-topic though xD.
lol blame me!
we've already been off topic a few posts above, but hey we're just trying to keep this forum alive

Another weapon which is my favorite could be the MP-15 (sub-machinegun which ya get from the deal SWAT member outside the church-like room - where Baldy Rupert got a beating). Wanna know the best way to max the damage with it? Just fire a grenade into the enemy, quickly change the weapon to MP-15 and fire away. It should fire 30 shots and each shots will increase the damage already done to it. So if yer grenade does about 100 HP damage, MP-15 will increase the damage from that and sometimes, can exceed 200 HP damage (which could kill most of the Golems).

ieyasu :

p229 also comes w/ a silencer...and a flashlight ftw! but you're right about them becoming useless in the later part. well w/ golems, it's only practical to use bigger guns against them...but for an expert like you sure handguns are ok lol like i said, i hate the invisible ones just bec. i get most of my "game overs" from them! the rest are fairly easy; it's fun to watch those stupid rocket golems hit their co-enemies

Oh yeah, P229 which ya get from the "chaser" boss in tunnel. I usually put this back into the truck, so I don't use it much.

Warning - don't try it when there is more than one Golem.

Also, wat most ppl don't know is that Golems' main weakness is at their backs. They slow as a damn turtle and ya can run to their behind, unload a grenade up their a$$ and run back in before they could turn and swat ya like a fly.

And invisible golems ... they always appear behind ya. So stay there, wait till the golem appears as a phantom (whitish transparent looking). They always appear as that when ya have a gun aimed at their pretty little heads. Run anywhere except where ya stood moments ago, and they could appear behind ya, try to hit where ya stood. Now it is the time to shoot. Use this tactic, and ya can defeat it even when ya using a handgun.

yeah, Yasunori Mitsuda was the composer for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Xenogears and Shadow Hearts as well.

this is a bit off-topic though xD.

oh but i do! wasn't it somewhere in the basement cellar upon examining a small cabinet on the wall? i remember you had to have p08 equipped first. well i still found p229 to be more effective than p08, must be the flashlight (bec. bats are a real pain in the ass)
Nope, no need to equip P08. The best thing about P08 is that it has a silencer and a long range, which means that ya can take out an enemy from far and they don't even know where ya're shooting from (due to the silencer). But when ya face with most of NMC (especially in the Shelter), it is useless.

geeeez! *salutes* i would call you master if you've unlocked the nightmare mode...did you?!
I played Scavenger mode till I get to Mr. Douglas then I stopped. Not cos it was too hard, but cos I wanted two items - Medicine Wheel and M-16 which find early in the game, but Mr. Douglas didn't have it. Decided to replay it later after I get enough BP from playing Bounty mode.

quote
playing scavenger mode for the first time certainly kept me on my toes...what w/ the random golemns for a normal encounter...i especially abhor the invisible ones! but unlike you i always keep my mongoose and hypervelocity in hand, but handguns? lol you're a monster!
It's not wat ya packing which counts, but how ya deliver it.

Each Golems have a particular weakness which ya should know. Those rocket golems are slow in reloading and can kill other Golems just to get ya. Those invisible ones will always appear behind ya. And ya need to know when it is a phantom and when it is solid. Solid form usually makes it darker in color, phantom form means it is whitish.

Golems no problem to me. After all, wat sort of expert can I be of I finished the game 15 times and didn't pick some survival tip from it, ya.

As for Chrono Break, well I'm still hopeful. It is possible that they have put it on hold rather than scrap the project completely.

man, I 'd trade all these upcoming SE games for a third Chrono one. anyway,

here's an interview from 2008 with Mitsuda (the Chrono games composer):
link
quote
1UP: You wouldn't believe how many questions we get about whether there will ever be another Chrono game. What are the chances of you and Kato getting together on that, you think?

YM: Regarding the series itself, there are a lot of politics involved, but of course if anything were to move forward on it, I would love to be a part of it. Regardless of whether it's a Chrono game or not, though, I would want to work on something similar in scope and atmosphere with Kato again in the future.
quote
1UP: Kato doesn't actually work for Square Enix anymore, though, right?

YM: Not anymore, no.

1UP: So would it be possible to do a new Chrono game anyway, then?

YM: Well, I still talk with the folks at Square Enix, and I have a really good relationship with some of them. If they had a good concept for the game, I would be OK with it.

1UP: Kato too?

YM: Of course, he left the company for a reason -- there was some frustration -- but if Square asked him to work on it, he probably would. [Kato actually recently worked with Square Enix as the scenario writer on Dawn of Mana and Heroes of Mana--Ed.].

1UP: If Square Enix didn't ask for his involvement, would you still do it?

YM: If that would be the case, I would feel weird about it -- because if it's a Chrono game, Kato should be involved.
it's clear that there won't be a third Chrono in the near future. we shouldn't lose hope though

I have collected all the weapons in this game, plus a few hidden items like the Snail Magazine (for P08 handgun). Bet ya didn't know that existed.

Well, tat cos SQUARE seems to be very quiet for the past few years now. Last I heard of Chrono Break (in SQUARE website), it was 2006 if not mistaken. No idea if they are continueing the project or push it aside for FF and PE game projects.
i read that it was planned as early as 2001 under the former squaresoft trademark, but was later abandoned; and subsequently in the ff. years: 2003 (something to do w/ chrono trigger 2), 2005, 2006-08, no news or rumors this year... *hopes crushed*

ok i'm just hoping for pe3 to come out no sooner before college eats 2/3 of my life again arghh

Last time I checked, I have played the PE2 game for 15 times - knows places where the Golems comes out and even can kill those jokers using handgun. WHAHAHAHAHA ... I'm Evil.

In Scavenger mode, ya really need to know how to save those MP items cos ya gonna run out of those if ya kept using them on regular basis. Something we attend to take for granted.

omg gobi1972 you're awesome! i've never even heard of such a sequel until now

PE2 gives a good example of wat sort of problem we faced. Ya could always be running out of items to put in. Ya won't feel like it is a big deal in Normal, Replay and Bounty mode, BUT when ya start playing Scavenger mode, ya will feel the pinch. This cos ya gonna need every help and item ya can get and it just couldn't be enough.
good point

As for Chrono Trigger ... I really don't care about that game. However, what happened to the sequel for Chrono Cross? Wat was it called? Chrono Break if not mistaken.
omg gobi1972 you're awesome! i've never even heard of such a sequel until now

as for chrono trigger, i've played it once in an emulator and was close to finishing it. i wanted to play it bec. it's the prequel to chrono cross

well i'm off for some chrono break research - will be back!
