Just make a trap then put it on the spot where the chicken is every night then go on with your day, when chickens appear in their spots just check the trap then you have a chicken

You make a chicken trap made of soft wood when you scare off a chicken collect the feathers then put the trap down then dont leave the island or area(not sure about the area) wait about a full day or more
