Has anyone else figured out how to skip through the wall before you go through the door at the beginning of level 1? I've trawled all the cheat sites and come up with the same stuff over and over, but never this! I can't be the only person to have found this surely!?!?

So you knew about it then?? when i first played this it was so hard, cos back then, it was just you and your mates at school discussing it... then me and my brother got a game genie OH WOW! But now... I cant believe how much i have sneakily googled! I'll only ever be my boys 'master' at the Marios because I am crap at everything else - thats where dad reigns! Gotta get the chores done now so I can Mario when the kids go to bed...

I dug out my old SNES about 3 weeks ago one rainy afternoon just to keep my 4 and 6 year old quiet. They have become really good at it, trouble is, I cant leave it alone either!! Late last night I was playing about, storing up fire flowers, whistles, p-wings, leaves etc, (for the kids - obviously!!!).
I went into world 7-1, and approached the door as Super Mario, on a fast run, he just stood there and started to slide through the wall and came out the other side - I couldn't believe it. Then a bit later, I DID IT AGAIN!!! The annoying thing is I'm not exactly sure what I did. I've tried it as small mario, raccoon mario, and everything luigi but it never worked, or I went through the blinkin' door!!! Mind you having woken the boys up this morning all excited to show them what I had discovered, I can't do it again I've tried all sorts of fast running/jumping/jump ducking/ducksliding combos....
At least I can console myself with the fact that I did it twice, so I can't have dreamt it! Shame I was on my own, no-one will ever believe me.! My kids call me 'the Master' in our house, better than dad - which for a fast approaching 40yr old mum-of-2 saddo mario addict, thats quite sweet

Are you asking how it's done?
I'm not 100% sure if it can be flown over, but if it can I doubt you can get enough speed anyway. But there is a glitch which allows you to pass through walls, but it's less than trivial being extremely hard to execute.
