Spring 11th, Thursday, Year 1 _____________________________
After having lunch with Cliff and walking with him to the winery, Rain said her goodbye and headed back to her farm. She was about to walk to the exit towards the forest before having second thoughts. Maybe she would go see Popuri and Gray. She hadnt talked to them for a while.
Rain turned around and walked back up the road, wondering who she go visit first. Popuri or Gray, Gray or Popuri... she just didnt know. As she reached the end of the road, she noticed a blonde girl stalking around the corner and muttering to herself. The girl walked up to the blacksmith and entered the building. Who had that been? Rain had never seen her around here before...
'Hello?'
Rain entered the blacksmith and looked around in the gloom hesitantly, blinking a couple of times to get used to the darkness. She saw Saibara look up from the counter and Gray turn around from the furnace he was working with. 'Hey,' he said. Rain smiled at him and replied, 'hey, how's everything been?'
'It's been great. How's the farm?' he replied, taking off his work gloves and walking over to her. 'It's coming along,' Rain said.
'You know this girl, Gray?' Saibara said gruffly. The boy turned to his grandfather and replied, 'yeah, this is Rain. You know, that girl who fell of her horse that I was telling you about.'
'Gray!' Rain said, blushing in embarrassment. Saibara laughed before he said, 'ah yeah, I remember. Nice to meet ya missy.'
'Nice to meet you too,' Rain replied shyly. It was then she noticed the girl standing in the corner of the room, her arms crossed while she watched them talk with a bored expression.
'Ah... I dont believe we've met before,' Rain said, walking forward and holding out her hand. 'Im Rain.'
The girl looked at her hand blankly before looking up at her again. 'Nice to know,' she said coolly. ______________________________
Dun dun dun, we finally meet Maddy
Jun 04, 09 09:02PMLinebecks Ferret
Name: Jack "Ginger" Sawyer
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Birthday: Summer, 28th
Physical description: He is tall, lean and muscular, with nimble fingers and strikingly gingery-brown hair (hence the nickname). He has a wide, easy smile, slightly pale skin (from lack of sun exposure), light green eyes, a handsome face and a faint five-'o-clock shadow. He wears a beige trenchcoat, black turtleneck and dark pants with many pockets.
Personality: Ginger, or "Ginge" as he's known by his friends, is a quick-tongued man who always speaks his mind, and his mind stays on its toes. He has a flippant way with words, and a carefree "don't give a damn" spirit; but his nature has been focused over the years to make him always hyper-alert to situations that could spell danger. On entering a room, his eyes will automatically scan his surroundings quickly for self-defense items, hiding spots, dangers and possible escape routes. He is very nonchalant about life, in general, although it vaguely worries him what will happen to him in future when he grows too old to work or hide from cops. Ironically, even though he was a burglar for ten years, he has a genuinely good-natured heart, and believes in good treatment of people. He strongly believes in the "fair go" principal, and helping the underdog; so his morals are basically intact, but it's just that it never entered his mind before that stealing from faceless corporations has any relevance to morality. He's never a violent man, though. Dare-devilrous and foolhardy, maybe, but never vicious. One might say that he has an appetite for adventure but a naivety about life.
Likes and dislikes: Funny pictures of animals, chicken cordon bleu, chicken parmigiana, (and pretty much all chicken-related foods,) useful gadgets and devices, and interesting little doodackies or thingamabobs. He particularly loves beer, licorice bullets and cinnamon scrolls. He likes your dog and chickens. He dislikes grape juice, ores, fish, and “pretty stuff”. He also avoids Harris whenever possible.
History: Born and bred in the more shadowy suburbs of urban Australia, he has a history of committing felonies since he was old enough to cross the street. He was the joker and crowd-pleaser of the class in school, and has no education higher than high school, having started his pilfering career early. He lived in solitude and burglary for ten years, until finally after the guilt and insecurity of it caught up with him after a chance meeting with a wise friend of his, who persuaded him to give up stealing forever. However, he still refuses to hand himself in, being unable to face the confinement of jail, and came to Mineral Town to start afresh because it was the sort of out-of-the-way place that cops probably wouldn’t look to find him in.
Family: None.
Other: His two great passions in life are humour and adventure. He'll do anything dangerous and stupid if it's exciting, and if the crowd loves it. He's not a prankster, but he enjoys making witty comments or funny gestures/expressions/impressions to make people laugh. He's extremely good at acting impressions of people.

OOC: Why is this thread dying?
Spring 11th, Thursday, Year 1 ------------------------------
Nikki looked at Zeb smugly. That was something he didnt know and hadnt expected. That should stop that arrogant attitude of his...
'So wait, this town is full of ex-agents who havent done anything about you being here?' Zeb said as they left the square. Nikki nodded before saying slowly, 'well, kind of... both Karlos and Whisp have given me warnings about continuing my normal career in this town. Apparently they're watching me or something like that.'
Nikki shrugged while Zeb laughed. 'Karlos and Whisp? Those are the ex-agents you're worried about? Nikki, I've lost count of the number of times you've given them the slip. If they couldnt stop you in the city, what makes you think they can stop you here?'
Nikki just shrugged again, but her expression became uneasy. There were just some things she couldnt tell Zeb...
'So... talking to your brother yet?' Zeb said carelessly as they approached the inn. Nikki shot him an angry look before she said, 'that's none of your business.'
'Come on princess, dont hold back on me,' Zeb said in a whiny voice. 'Im only concerned about you. Families shouldnt be broken up like this.'
'Zeb, you havent cared for anyone else but yourself since the day you were born,' Nikki said, giving him an annoyed look. As they entered the inn Nikki looked around carefully. Good, there was no one here but Ann...
'This is where you've been staying?' Zeb said with a mild look of surprise. 'How quaint.'
Nikki sighed and put her arms behind her head as they walked up to Ann, and Zeb leaned on the counter before giving her an attractive smile, and he said, 'wow, this place has cute staff. And what would your name be sweetheart?'
Ann blushed profusely before she stammered, 'I... I'm Ann...'
'Pretty name for a pretty lady,' Zeb said smoothly. Ann's blush deepened until her whole face went red, and Nikki's eye twitched in annoyance.
'Stop hitting on her and book a room!' she snapped before hitting him on the back of the head. Zeb winced and rubbed the spot while he whined, 'what was that for?'
Nikki just looked away from him as though she hadnt done anything, and he sighed. 'Fine,' he said, turning back to Ann. 'Do you think I could bunk with Nikki for a couple of nights sweetie?'
'S... sure, that's o-okay,' Ann said, pulling the log book out from under the counter. She turned to Nikki and said, 'so Nikki, is this guy your boyfriend or something?'
Nikki froze as a horrified look came to her face. Zeb grinned and suddenly slipped his hand around her waist, and he said, 'you caught us. Nikki's my little princess. Dont we make a cute couple?'
Nikki felt the rage boil up inside of her as Ann nodded with a smile. Zeb suddenly exclaimed in pain and fell to the ground as Nikki clubbed him over the head, and he sat there while gripping his sore cranium. Nikki stalked over to the door and said, 'book your own god damn room, Zeb. And dont you ever ever insinuate that again, unless you want to make me vomit.'
Zeb watched as she walked out of the inn and slammed the door behind her. He chuckled as he picked himself up from the ground and dusted himself off. Well Nikki hadnt changed in the last week.
'Are you okay?' Ann said with a worried look. Zeb just laughed again and said, 'dont worry, Im used to it. She's just a bit mad at me today. So how about that room?'
Ann got him to sign the log book before he handed over money for his room. Ann put everything away before saying, 'if you want to find her, she's probably gone to the blacksmith. She said she had a few jobs today. Do you want me to find you a map?'
'No... I think I'll let her cool off,' he said, hitching his bag up his shoulder. He looked thoughtful for a moment before giving her a sly look, and he said, 'you wouldnt happen to know a guy called Cliff would you?'

Thursday, Spring 11th, Year 1 Whisp strode steadily down a cracked street towards a tall building at the end of the road. A man he recognized as the person who had taught him the techniques he would use as an Agency member waited outside, hailing him heartily as he came nearer. "Whisp! It's been a while! Come on, we need your help with something!" he yelled. Whisp smiled and ran forwards, wondering what the agency needed his help with this time. He reached the man, and they went into the builing. "Whisp, welcome back!" the manager greeted him enthusiastically, shaking his head so strongly that Whisp was sure he would pull it off. "Thanks, sir. It's a pleasure to be back, even if it's only for a couple of hours. What do you need help with?" "One of our 'sleeper' agents has been captured in action and I need you to rescue him". Whisp frowned. Sleeper agents were a term used for agents who operated secretly, going through their daily tasks while awaiting certain people who would 'activate' them, and prepare them for their real task. "I'll do my best, sir".

Katie sighed as she sat down at the end of the pier on the beach. She swung her legs over the edge, her shoes just skimming the surface of the ocean's waves. It was around midday, and she gazed out into the distance as she leaned against one of the large wooden poles that was holding the pier above the water.
After a small while, she sighed, deciding to go and find Popuri, the pink-haired girl who had shown Katie to the inn the day before. Apparently her family owned a Chicken farm, and Katie was dying to see the feathered animals. After making her way off the beach, Katie eventually found herself hanging over the edge of the fence keeping the chickens enclosed as she smiled at the small animals.
"Katie!" the mentioned girl stood as she heard her name called from behind her. She smiled at the sight of Popuri's head popping out of the door of the house. "Hey, come in!" Popuri beckoned Katie inside. "This is my Mum, Lillia, and my brother, Rick." Katie smiled at both people.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Katie." she introduced herself, nodding her head slightly in greeting.

Nikki groaned at breakfast the next day, resting her forehead on the hard table. She couldnt believe this. Zeb was coming here. Here. As if she didnt have enough problems as it was. She didnt want him breathing down her neck. He was stuck up, he was overwhelmingly confident, and he was annoying as hell. This was going to be a bad day. She just knew it.
'Good morning Nikki,' Ann said, walking over with a plate of toast. 'Are you hungry?'
'No,' Nikki muttered. 'Im frustrated.'
'What was that?'
'Nothing,' Nikki sighed, taking the plate off her. 'Thanks.'
'No problem,' Ann said, taking a seat beside her. Nikki hid her look of irritation as she chewed on the toast, and she said evenly, 'got nothing planned for today?'
'Nope. It's a pretty quiet day,' Ann replied. Nikki sighed. Damn girl didnt get the hint.
'What about you? Have you got any jobs today?' Ann asked. Nikki looked thoughtful for a moment before she said, 'well Saibara told me there was a job at the cattle farm and a job at the supermarket. Apparently I have to stop by the shop first to be debriefed or something like that.'
Nikki waved her hand dismissively at that, not really caring for that kind of thing. Ann laughed and said, 'well Saibara can really talk when he wants to. Got any big plans, or just working?'
Nikki stared at the girl for a moment, wondering if she knew about her guest. Well she had picked up the telephone, so maybe Zeb had said something...? No, that wasnt Zeb. She was simply curious as to who it had been.
'Well I do have a friend from the city coming in today,' Nikki said idly. 'Im supposed to be picking him up from the pier soon in fact.'
'A friend from the city? Really?' Ann said, looking very interested. Nikki munched on the last bit of her toast and said, 'yeah, known him for years. I better go now actually or I'll be late. Later.'
Nikki got up and pulled her shoulder bag from another seat, leaving a disappointed looking Ann behind her as she walked out the door. She had so been looking forward to learning about their strange blunt guest...
'There's my princess,' Zeb said with smirk, watching as Nikki walked up the pier to meet him fifteen minutes later. She scowled at him and said, 'if you keep calling me that then you'll find yourself at the wrong end of one of my smoke bombs.'
He laughed good-naturedly and replied, 'I'll watch what I say then. Had a good week?'
'Oh yeah, it's been just grand!' Nikki replied, swinging her bag around and hitting him in the shoulder. 'Hey, what was that for?' he whined, rubbing his shoulder with a wince.
'For sending me here you big idiot!' she exclaimed angrily. 'Do you know what's been happening here while you've been resting easy in the city?!'
'I would have no idea, and I wouldnt particularly care,' he drawled, picking up his own carry bag and slinging it over his shoulder. 'Why dont you tell me while we walk princess?'
Nikki scowled again and followed him down the pier, telling him everything that had happened while they walked from the beach to the main square. He chewed on his toothpick thoughtfully while he listened, and Nikki was really getting frustrated at how he didnt seem to care. But she had left one little fact till last to really get to him.
'I dont see what you're complaining about Nikki, everything seems fine to me,' he said. 'You've gotten yourself a nice little cover, you've gained the villagers trust. Have you kept up with the stealing?'
Nikki nodded tiredly and told him the rather expensive looking necklace she had in her room.
'And you've still got that computer chip, right?'
She nodded again.
'Then everything's fine,' he said with a careless wave of his hand. Nikki felt a vein twitching in her eyebrow, so she said in a sweet innocent little voice, 'oh yeah, I almost forgot. This town is full of ex-agents.'
'What?'

Taka walked along with Alga to the Clinic. Alga had said that he was Karlos' brother...well they did look the same. After several minutes, they reached the clinic, but there was a sign on the door saying: CLOSED- OPERATION IN PROCESS (EMERGENCIES ONLY)
"Huh?" Taka said, puzzled, "I though they were going to operate in a few days time..."

'Do you really mean it Rain? We can live here?' Grandmother said, hurrying over to her granddaughter and taking hold of her shoulders. The dogs barked at her from Rain's arms, and she hushed them softly.
'Of course,' Rain said. 'You're my grandparents. I would love to be able to see you every day.'
'We cant thank you enough my dear,' Grandfather said, wheeling his chair over to her with a smile. 'I cant wait to see this farm grow. I'd like to be able to help around here.'
'Im sure you'll find a way gramps,' Rain said, putting the puppies on the floor and taking his hands in hers. He gripped them tightly as he looked up at her, proud that she had grown up to be such a caring and strong person.
'I'll talk to Gotz first thing in the morning!' Grandmother said, walking over to the table and sitting down with a pen and some paper. 'I better start planning this right away!'
Rain groaned, not believing she was going to start this when it was so late. Her grandmother had always loved to be hyper organised. Grandfather laughed at her expression and winked, knowing exactly what she was thinking about. He had been living with the woman for over fifty years after all.
'Im gonna go to bed, okay?' Rain said. They nodded and said goodnight to her, and she crawled under her sheets and fell asleep in seconds. Today had been such a big day.

Spring 11th, Thursday, Year 1 _______________________________
'Thank you!'
Rain put down the phone in the inn and smiled. She had finished talking to one of her contcts about ordering horses and feed for her farm. And it was all gonna be here in the next two days! She had only bought eight horses. It was a good number to start off with. Her farm was only just getting up and running after all. And the money would only go so far. But more would start coming in after the horses arrived and the business came.
Rain sat down at one of the tables and leaned back thoughtfully. What should she do now? She had watered her crops this morning. Vegetables were beginning to grow, and she should be able to ship them soon. She had looked after the chick, which she had yet to name. It was so adorable with all it's yellow fluff. She had even fenced off the left hand of her field to make an outside enclosure for the chickens and a place where her crops could be. The rest she was going to turn into a racing track for the horses to train on. She had accomplished a lot in the last couple of days. She knew she could do it if she put her mind to it.
'Hey, Rain.'
Rain looked up to see Cliff walking up to her and waving, and she smiled in return.
'Hey Cliff, how have you been?' she asked, gesturing him to take a seat. He thanked her and sat down, and he replied, 'great. Everything's going really well at the winery. What about you?'
'You have no idea how good everything is!' she said, unable to hide her big grin. 'My farm is finally getting on track and my grandparents have decided to stay in Mineral Town. They're talking to Gotz right now.'
'That's great!' Cliff said 'It's nice to see everything is working out for you, being new to this town and all.'
'Yeah,' Rain said with a nod. Cliff looked around at a clock that sat on the wall, and he said, 'well since you're here, would you like to have lunch with me?'
'Sure!' Rain replied. 'I'd like that a lot.'
