In order to unlock the special art gallery one must complete all games on easy with limited continues. 1 through 5 and X are done, no problems. I also beat 6 with the same method. But at the end (I know it's only 4 levels due to easy mode, that's not the problem), it just says game over, and doesn't give me any tokens or even acknowledge that I beat it.
Am I missing something?

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. The unlockables don't seem to be worth it, but it's still a fun game.

Metal Slug 6's difficulty is different from the others. You must clear it on Hard for both the gallery and the music, and the difficulty setting in Options doesn't affect MS6's gameplay.
I wonder if you'll ever see this message...
