My first game for my DS and I've been trying to level up, but it's super hard it seems.
I have just acquired Rosa to become a permanent party member, at Kairo, and my current levels are:
Cecil: 22 Rosa: 15 Rydia: 18 Edward: 16
Is this a good set for now? Also, is there any way I can take out party members like in XII?

Yeah, I like Cecil's, my highest score is 6,730. Need to work on it a bit. Rydia's is my least favorite, I suck at it. But I don't like math, so that explains a lot.. I don't think there's a side quest boss, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, I'm going to stop spamming this thread now, so if there's anything else you want to ask, make a new thread or feel free to PM me. Or anyone else.

well its still ok but i wouldve wished they made it abit like other FF's which can break the damage barrier if some stuff was done like sidequests, but its still good,i like the mini games. is there like a extremely tough sidequest boss?

There is no way to go over the 9999 damage barrier in this game. Also you must have given palom and porom 3 augments total to get all their spells. 2 to one of them and 1 to the other. They are very handy indeed.

Well, trying not to give away too much, Palom and Porom eventually leave. If you go to the elder or whatever in Mysidia, he'll give you the Twincast augments. Dpending on the 2 people you pick, the spells you get from Twincast will be different. Cecil and Rosa are best because they're the only ones that can cast Ultima. And what do you mean by the damage barrier?

wow i thought only palom and porom could only do Twincast as they are twins so it makes sense. when do you get twincast for cecil and rosa? and isint there a way to break the damage barrier?

No, it got erased at the very last dungeon in the game, before the final boss. Who did you use for Twincast? I used Cecil and Rosa. As long as they have enough MP, they always cast Ultima, which does 9,999 damage every time.

right thanks. did it get erased in the cagnazzo part? my cecil is around lvl 16 or 17 i need to lvl up buy i like using twincast it works wonders especially for the guy with snakes for hands and head. forgot his name sorry

Oh, you mean Cagnazzo? Well, I'm glad you like the story. I got all the way to the final dungeon and then accidentally erased my file. Didn't matter tho, I was seriously under leveled.

oh ok. right now im a bit stuck on this one guy impersonating the king of baron who is blue and stuff. its kept me interested. i like the story. need to train a bit.
