I'm not sure if this has been posted but do you level up your character like in an RPG and get experience after fights?

Oh cool. That sounds like a lot of fun =). Do the get new skills and abilities as they level up?
Yeah it's supposed to be like Kingdom Hearts. Level up and get new abilities and such.

Sweet, I never knew there was a levelling system. However, can anyone elaborate how deep it goes? (what it changes)

I think it changes the character's HP,CP (which you need to equip attacks),and gives you new attacks. But I don't have the game yet,so I don't know for sure (it hasn't come to america yet ).

speaking of stronger weapons, is there a change in how a weapon looks in battle when equiped? As ive yet to see a change in a video.

From what I've heard,no,the only time a character's weapon changes (in look) is when the weapon changes when a certain character (cloud,Squall, and firion for example) when they go into EX mode. But Cloud does use a different sword with his advent children costume than with his normal costume.

Yep! You can go all the way up to level 100, just like every other FF.
