this is a thread for all those who wanna remark on the problems with DW6 empires, and i know there are tons, like the lack of free mode, the long boring empire mode, the shameless xtreme mode style merc missions, and worst of all the lack of an effcient data carryover, ie ur character & weapon lvl resets for each new playthrough, unless u use clear points to get a bonus, but it was so long & boring i couldnt even honestly bring myself to clear even 1 empire mode...if i forgetten anything of you wanna add a "here here" to something i have said b/c it bothers u to, feel free..

yea, i bought red hare, but, i never use him, true speed is like a third the cost of red hare..besides, i guess im just not much of a horseman, lol

plus, i love (sarcasm) getting the ability to true speed myself up to the point where i can't control lu bu and i end up just running around like a mad man spinning his weapon. really, there is no point to having a horse when you can just true speed yourself every 10 seconds.

i find it funny when i'm surrounded by guys with lu bu and i do my musou attack and when i throw my weapon 360 around me...i get 3 kills after seeing 10 guys drop dead. i also like it when i grab an officer and do almost zero damage to them when i pummel them.

maybe so, but i feel a little pressured when the villagers wont stop yelling and mission success depends on their survival...especially as slow as ur character runs at the start...

In such a case I think the only solution is to try before you buy: go rent it. For some people the fleshed out CAW mode is enough to warrant the purchase, and I know I had a lot of fun with it.

But I wouldn't recommend going out and buying it blindly like I did, haha. If I had rented it first, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't of bought it.

Even with all of the disappointment, anyone think this is worth buying if you've bought every DW game since 3?

I've written a full review containing my thoughts of disappointment on this game. It can be found here.

In summary, my disappointment lies within the lack of strategic depth, even by the standards of previous Empires games. While the game can be fun in small doses, it really wasn't as good as I had thought it'd be (which is surprising since I went into it with lowered expectations).

extreme mode-like mission - wtf does that mean?
You know in Xtreme Legends how they have Xtreme Mode? You pick a character and move around China as a nomad and basically can choose to take a mission and settle a dispute or something like that. It ranges from stopping bandits from attacking a village to being a messenger, or an escort. There also may be secrets on the level if you explore enough and rewards for doing so are bountiful. They did this on a lesser scale when you're an officer or a vagrant in the new Empires and I think it's not that bad an idea.

I guess this is the wrong place to say it, lol, but I truly enjoyed this game. I never liked Empires free mode, I love the long experience of the playthrough, and I was entertained by the extreme mode-like missions.
