i was just wondering what level i should be at if i want to tackle cerberus in the galbadia garden, disc 2, my average party level is around 21/22, save for squall, he's ten levels higher. not favouritism, he just get used more by the story.

anyway, the walkthrough i'm skimming through tells me that a single special from squall should kill it outright but it deals about 2000 damage maximum over all.

should i train up a bit first? or just take it head on?

i thought it might screw things up before then i thought whatever i can always do this again with my backups lol

using GF's as a meat shield was my tactic while squall used mad rush when the other 2 are immune to berserk

I did the disk tray cheat once, but I was too scared it would screw up to do it a second time.

From memory, his most devastating move is Thundaga (I'm pretty sure he casts that more than other magic), so you should get some thunder magic and put it on Elm-Def. As said, just boost your HP and Str and he'll be dead in a couple rounds.

sorry got mixed up i used the summon loading sequence to do selphie's limit break, there was a method for boost along those lines i'm gonna look it up again its bin a while since i've done it lol, the zell trick was just to tap in the shortest combos in the fastest time to deal ok ish damage unless you already deal 9999

Hah, I've only used the tray cheat with Selphie's limit break; it's not supposed to work with other limit breaks / boost, is it? Judging by the moments you can possibly freeze the game, it wouldn't make sense.

Not sure how clear what I'm saying is, so here's an example: if you freeze during Zell's limit break, all you'll manage to do is delay the animation of his next attack, which is practically useless as there's nothing you can do during that interval.

the glitch only works on the ps1 and maybe the slim ps2 as well but when you see the loading sequence for a limit break or summon open the disk tray the game will slow down and continue loading until you close the disk allowing you to pill off massive combos or find the spells you want or even get 250 boost

if your intending to draw from him then i would refine dino bones into quakes and add it to your elemental defense

might seam noobish, considering ive completed this before.

but what zell/selphie/ glitch?

what can i do to boost it to 250? i can do 190/200 easily

Jul 01, 09 12:26AMSamurai X14

true, mad rush is a winner here, although i find that using aura works well too along with Zell/Selphie/Summon glitch if you use a PS1

250 boost FTW!!!

Levels don't matter much. It actually depends on what magic you have available to junction.

What I can suggest is to keep using Dispel whenever he casts Triple, and then just attack away at his low amount of HP. I find Mad Rush to work very well in this fight.
