Well when I turn my xbox on and attempt to eject the disc tray, it makes a noise like it's about to come out and then sounds almost like it has hit something inside which stops it and then doesn't come out. It takes about 10 attempts to open it usually but it seems to have got worse today, which is very bad since today is the first day of the school holidays. Can anybody offer any solutions to fix this problem or keep it going at least through the school holidays without voiding the warranty?

Thanks for the link, I just followed the instructions on there and now it works perfectly.

The problem itself is extremely annoying, sometimes to make my tray close i had to quickly turn it upright then put it back lying down.
So happy now that mine works and glad to hear yours works too =D

had the exact same problem for a while, the disc tray would take about 30attempts to open and then was a bastard to close.
however i found this vid tonight
and followed the instructions on it, now my disc tray is working fine =]

well mine just makes a stupid *bleep* sound... i swear to god if i have to get it repaired or get a new one again i i am going to drive-by bill gates's house 360s they probably won't work at that either, they'll just RROD half way and explode as he laughs at me through those 2inch thick glasses
