What did you you find to be the scariest part of the game? Like a particular ghoul, scene, mind trip?

The creepiest thing for me was Blinded Woman. I feel so bad for her, but she really does freak me out. "There's no one here. . ." "My eyes! My eyes!" Creeepppyyyy. . .And when she gets in your face and you see her blood-streaked face with empty eye sockets. . .*shudders* Not pretty. It makes it worse that she gropes around for you blindly (go figure) until you make a noise, then she's on you in a flash. CREEPY!
it was scary getting a Fatal Frame shot of her. the holes where her eyes were supposed to be were just so.....gross.

Though the whole game creeped me out, only a few things really scared me and made me jump.

Those things were:
a crack of lighting
a crow flying out in front of Miku while she was going up the stairs
the sudden appearance of that ghost head when Miku peeks through the hole in the floor

Scariest for me was when Miku walks down this dark hallway with all these bloody clawmarks across the walls, and it's pretty silent, and all of a sudden you hear three knocks from inside the wall! That scared the crap outta me. Also, when you're in the shrine area and there are all those trees around the dark path you're on, and you see those black shadowy monkey things jump across your path and scream, then disappear into the trees. Ugh.

I LOVE this game.

I hear it put Silent Hill to shame in the thrills department.
well I didn't think silent hill was scary.. It was kinda sick and weird but I did liked it.

I haven't played so much on Fatal Frame but it seems very scary

On this subject, I have to mention a couple of great moments (minor spoiler alert):

1. 99.9% of the time, Miku's slow, deliberate door opening technique doesn't reveal any flaming skulls or severed limbs leaping out at you. It's the suspense of her pausing (and the length of her pause is random) that causes the chills as each door creaks open.

But, remember the editor's ghost? He actually does fly at you (with a sudden musical blast) when you open the door that leaves the lamp hall. That was a good spook.

2. The other, more subtle, (but startling) chill involves the inanimate objects that you pass by a million times as you run through the mansion. By running around, you tell the AI, "oh, nothing to be seen here, I'm just hauling through to get somewhere else." Then suddenly, a chest jumps around like someone's locked inside.

Both the box of bodily remains in the burial chamber and the chest beside the suit of armor in the storehouse will hop up and down if you run through like you don't care. Not to mention those dolls in the doll room whose heads can't seem to stay fixed on their shoulders...

Of course, it's when you least expect it!

Scarrier than deliverance, now that is friggin scarry, ouch kinda scarry...knowatimsayin!

It is scary Vandal, honestly. Raz and I were chatting earlier about it, and he said I was nuts for playing it alone. HAHhaha.
Have you seen the movie Deliverance?? Well it's scarier than that happening to you.
The only thing scarier than Fatal Frame, is someone paying more than $9.99 for metal Dungeon.
