Who agrees with me this should of been a patch. I mean they add really cool things, but not alot of really cool things. It also installs like a patch i heard. You play from your the normal Battlefield cd, it just adds to it, its not like you put the RTR cd in and play like that. i want to know so i can Decide to get it. Plus BF1942 is the best game ever made.

a patch is a softwaer used for upgrade used for fixing bugs or ridding the game if hacks while i feel this should of been downloadabel not buyabel it would of been a patch but rather a offical mod like ds thats the only reason i would buy RTR just so i can play the ds mod

I agree. When they first released BF42 they held back the edit kit to do your own maps skins etc just to make the sales of R2R count. BUT! The good old gaming community made their own tools to work with BF42.

We just have to look at the top work done on the desert combat mod. All R2R and secret weapons are is new skins and maps all which the gaming communities are fully able to do themselves. I think Illusions can learn a great deal from Value.

To add insult to injury Illusions great new attempt to stop cheating in bf42 in the next patch will disable all player ability to change commands client side. In doing this it disables all mods dead in the water. But Illusions great idea around this is picking mods of their choice and making them server side. Guess what mod they plan to help make server side first and get it to retail ? Yup you guessed it Desert combat!.

But who cares about all that anyway as in 4 days time I shall have Planetside on my lap entering a new era of Fpsing. I would much rather spend 8 quid a month on playing planetside than buy the secret weapons expansion.

It should have just been a patch but U know what these publishers are like for money grabbing. Only this morning I installed 32 new maps and 8 new game types for UT2003...FOR FREE...official ones too.

I am sure the next expansion pack won't get as many sales and they are gonna end up losing the original long term sales becuase of those antics...

There...Soapbox away
