This is a really hard game to run did u check the requierments befor buying putting all settings down does help alot and changeing from 32-bit to 16-bit helps for some users but over all make sure theres no other programs in backround

I have lagging to and it helps to turn down most of the settings and also I don't know if this will work for everybody but when I change my desk top from 32bit to 16bit and play Battlefield in 32bit everything is smoother I don't know why but it is, also if you have programs running in the background (winXP) taking up resources that will cause lagging to so try to turn off any thing that you don't use, like virus scan you only need that when you download allot or you are on line so you can turn that off that alone will free up about 20megs. Before I turn off the background programs my "Page File" usage is 180mb+ after I turn everything off "Page Files" usage is 86.5mb. Your page file is where most programs load into and if that is half way full and you load a program that consumes the rest it will have to look for more resources which causes some lagging so having this page file free of as much programs as possible will help. I posted a new thread for a mod for Battlefield: 1942 so check it out I like the new mod.
