Herea what I did:
1.Start hitting th orb as fast as you can. Cast spells in this process. 2.When the orb summons the undead, start running around in circles, and try to kill each undead one at a time. This will obviously take a long time, considering the orb summons 10 undead ech time. 3.Repeat this process until you have beaten the orb. I admit that this is the hardest boss the the game. (Tip: If the orb is giving you too much trouble, use the invincibility cheat.

oh my god.. I got the game the other day, played it, got to the orb, attacked it, killed zombies, attacked it, killed zombies, attacked it and destroyed it. Im the elven Sorcerus (sorry, not too good at the ol' spelling).
I have the morningstar or whatever it is, like the mace, but when i have 12,000 im gonna buy the better version as im now in the ice mines..

Yes, the Orb is frustrating (except for some lucky few, apparently, who perhaps are playing on an easier level?). My g/f (who looks remarkably like a dwarf) nearly threw something at the TV out of frustration with it.
The level becomes less scary when you realize that the undead need to slow down to strike and that it's fairly easy just to run around them and jump away when needed. I'd suggest practicing doing nothing but avoiding them for a few minutes. They are much more vulnerable from behind and it's easy to get behind them.
We also used the sorceress turn-and-flame approach, with any other characters running alongside (we went clockwise around the outside). The other characters can occasionally turn and fight a straggler, but this is dangerous as one false move means losing the character. Try to move only as fast as they'll keep up with you, which keeps them more in line so you can flame two or three each time. Keep track of who didn't follow you and expect the unexpected around corners.
Once you're down to 5 or 6 undead left each cycle, you can start gathering them up, then bolting across and hiding behind a pillar. After a few tries you should be able to shake them, then draw them in one or two at a time. Circle around them and strike their backs or wait for them to (mysteriously) pause every 30 seconds or so. The dwarf or archer will finally have something useful to do here (we had no archer, but wonder if the archer could turn and fire arrows at the same time the sorceress flamed).
Killing the undead is actually almost as easy or easier if only the sorceress is alive for the fight. The biggest upside of 2-3 characters is damaging the orb MUCH quicker with more characters (takes 25% of its HP vs. maybe 10% from a sorceress swinging at it). It's all numbers, because sooner or later you can make a mistake and will have to start over. The less dangerous battle the better.
We suggest being really clear (and friendly) about communicating with each other on this level. You'll need to stay out of each other's way and be clear on which direction you're heading. The sorceress player should say when they're stopping to flame and when to wave off and keep running.
Hope this helps someone!

Happy to hear that we are not alone. Me and my friend are destroying the orb for some evenings now, and after several rounds of enemies we always run out of potions!!! To all the people who did destroy it: what weapon were you using and how many rounds of enemies do we have to survive? HELP!

I am having the same problem with the orb. After beating about 3 rounds of enemies I run out of potions. I dont know if this is any help but I have found it easiest using the elveness character by running around the room in circles and repeatedly turning firing the fire spell thingymagigy! You need a lot of rejunevecation potions to do this though. I always run out after the three rounds of enemies and the elveness isnt exactl good at hand to hand combat with a bunch of skeletons and zombies! This boss is really annoying me!

That's really weird how you did better by your self than with an other person. The ord was really easy to beat maybe that you haven't leveled up enough and missed some enemies. So go back and kill them so you can level up.

I HATE THE ORB! Is it easier as only one player instead of two? A friend of mine who played by himself said it was easier also.

Only got hit twice!? I think something is wrong with the xbox version. Me and my friend were playing the orb of the undead level, and when we made it to the orb, the zombies were hellish. If the sorc got hit twice, only twice she would die, and it took 10 to 20 blows to kill a single zombie. Have you guys played other version, and was it this difficult? It seems ridiculously hard for the normal difficulty, we beat it but it took a helluva long time.
